Schmigadoon is heading to Broadway.

This will mark the second staged production of the musical based on the Apple TV+ series following the musical's premiere at the Kennedy Center earlier this year.

The production will play a limited engagement from April to September 2026.

Schmigadoon is crossing another bridge on its path to greatness.

Entertainment Weekly can exclusively announce that a stage musical based on the Apple TV+ cult favorite series is heading to Broadway. Schmigadoon, which follows the events of the TV show's first season, will enjoy a limited engagement at New York's Nederlander Theatre in 2026.

Previews begin on April 4, with an official opening night set for April 20. The production is currently set to run through Sept. 6.

"Schmigadoon is a love letter to the Golden Age of movie musicals," said producer Lorne Michaels in an exclusive statement. "It's a little bit nostalgic and a lot of fun. We're very excited to bring it to Broadway."

The stage version of Schmigadoon made its debut at the Kennedy Center this past January, featuring an expanded score from what audiences heard in the six-episode season.

The show follows New York doctors Josh and Melissa, originally played by Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong on the series, as they set out on a couples' backpacking retreat with the intention of rekindling the spark in their relationship. But when they get lost in the woods, they stumble into Schmigadoon, a magical town that's a Golden Age musical come to life.

Now, Josh and Melissa are trapped in a town that won't stop singing and the only way to escape is by finding true love — which may or may not be with each other.

The show's creator Cinco Paul previously told EW that he had his sights set on Broadway if all went well at the Kennedy Center. "All I'll say is I want Schmigadoon to conquer the world," he said, "and I won't rest until every single person on the planet has seen our show, so make of that what you will."

The score features new songs, including "The Picnic Basket Auction" and a song in the vein of Damn Yankees' composers Adler and Ross.

Further details, including casting, are still to be announced. In addition to Michaels, producers include Micah Frank, Caroline Maroney on behalf of Broadway Video, and Christine Schwarzman and Megan O'Keefe on behalf of No Guarantees Productions.

As for the written but never made season 3, well, let's hope a spot on Broadway might stoke the flames of possibility there. "Most of the movement is inside my heart, but I'm not giving up," Paul said previously. "I'm really proud of the work that all of us in the writers' room did, and I think the fans would really love it. Take heart in the fact that I have not given up and there are other people that are fans of the show who would also love to see that happen. You just never know; life is long."
