Fortnite developers will be able to sell items directly from their Fortnite Islands in December.

This recent development will open new revenue potential and engagement payouts from Fortnite item shop sales. Developers will earn 50% of the V-Bucks value from sales in their islands. From December through the end of 2026, the rate will be 100%.

According to its press release, Fortnite's average platform and store fees are currently 26% (with specific fees ranging from 12% on the Epic Games Store to 30% on console platforms). So, 50% of V-Bucks value translates to approximately 37% of retail spending, and 100% of V-Bucks value translates to approximately 74%.

Developers will use a Verse-based API and new UEFN tools to create and offer purchasable durable items and consumable items in their games.

Fortnite creators will also continue to receive payouts based on player engagement in their islands. The engagement payout formula places 40% of the net revenue from Fortnite's Item Shop and related real-money purchases into the engagement pool.

On Nov. 1, creators who bring in new or lapsed players will receive 75% of those players' contributions to the engagement payout pool for their first six months. Also in November, Sponsored Row in Discover will also be added so that creators can choose to spend money to receive increased visibility for their islands.

Starting Nov. 17, creators will be able to set up campaigns inside the Creator Portal, bid on placement and get comfortable with the tools. On Nov. 24, the new Sponsored Row section will go live in Discover, giving creators a predictable, scalable way to improve discovery.

Fortnite will soon launch Creator Communities that will build community forums with island updates, event information, feedback requests and more. Additionally, players will be able to choose to update and play creator-made islands before other game modes are installed later this year.

Streamlabs has launched the Intelligent Steaming Agent and Streamlabs AI at the global gaming event Logitech G Play 2025.

Available today on Streamlabs Desktop, the Intelligent Streaming Agent is a virtual co-host, live producer and technical assistant built into one AI-powered tool. The agent supports Fortnite with additional game titles scheduled to roll out soon.

The Intelligent Streaming Agent was designed for streamers of all experience levels and helps manage the stream, interact with audiences and handle behind-the-scenes tasks without the need for a full production crew. Each feature is fully customizable, allowing creators to tailor the agent to their unique content and style.

The Intelligent Streaming Agent is free to use with a limited set of interactions and automations. There is also an upgrade to Ultra for higher usage limits and unlimited automations.

The 3D avatar is optional. Streamers who prefer a simpler setup can use the agent in background mode, where it acts as a producer or technical assistant without appearing on screen.

Additionally, Streamlabs AI is now available to developers as a Software Development Kit. The model detects exciting in-game events like eliminations, wins and health drops, which enables the creation of dynamic overlays, responsive widgets and seamless hardware integrations.

Developers can build fully customized, reactive tools from scratch, unlocking new possibilities for immersive and interactive live streaming experiences for the first time.
