The comedian is currently hosting T-Mobile Breakfast at Bethpage, a first-of-its-kind live pregame show at the Ryder Cup from Sept. 26-28
Only a few people have left comedian Colin Jost starstruck, one of them being retired NFL quarterback Eli Manning.
Jost, who's been working at Saturday Night Live since 2005, admitted that the professional athlete is the only host he's asked for an autograph from on-set.
"I've been writing on SNL for 20 years, and the only host I've ever asked for their autograph was Eli," the comedian told reporters, including PEOPLE, inside T-Mobile's Chalet at the 2025 Ryder Cup on Sept. 25. "[He's] the only one I've asked because I'm such a Giants fan."
The moment still makes Jost chuckle, as he asked Manning to sign a promotional photo that showed the quarterback lying on a bed of footballs with his hands behind his head.
"He just signed it 'To Colin, Eli,'" Jost described. "It looks almost romantic. It's such a funny photo." (Manning hosted the late-night show in 2012, though he also made a cameo during his brother Peyton's gig five years prior.)

Jost, who grew up on Staten Island, N.Y. and is a proud New York sports fan, has seen plenty of Manning in the years since. Earlier in the week, the comedian and athlete played alongside each other in the Ryder Cup Celebrity Pro-Am at Bethpage Black on Long Island, N.Y.
"When [Manning] tossed me a golf ball and I caught it, I was like, 'I'm like a wide receiver!' " he joked of the round. "He really played great, so we lucked out."
Team USA (which also included stars like Miranda Lambert and Noah Kahan) beat the celebrities of Team Europe, leading Jost to joke it was "the best and perhaps only sports accomplishment of my life."

Jost has another collaboration with Manning happening too: hosting T-Mobile Breakfast at Bethpage, the first-ever live pregame show at the Ryder Cup. Produced with the Manning Brothers' Omaha Productions and NBC Sports and powered entirely by T-Mobile 5G, T-Mobile Breakfast at Bethpage brings Jost's signature comedy to one of the most prestigious tournaments in golf.
"I hope it'll appeal to golf fans, but I'm trying to make it very beginner-friendly," he said of his desires for the pregame show. "We've got a lot of great guests coming on that you'll know from all kinds of culture."
During the show's Friday broadcast, Jost was joined by Saturday Night Live costar Marcello Hernandez and chef Bobby Flay.
