Klinetold Business Insiderin October 2024 that he and his wife don't consider themselves to have a "Hollywood marriage" because they've lived on N.Y.C.'s Upper East Side, where Cates runs a store, for so long.

Their strength may have less to do with location than with their love for each other, with the Oscar winner telling the outlet that one of the main reasons their relationship is so strong is Cates' support for him.

"She's got her head on her shoulders, unlike me. I usually have my head on her shoulders, too. She's a great wife, a great mother, great person, and she keeps me honest," he said, before joking: "Except for in interviews."

The Princess of Wales is in the middle of an “emotional time” as she prepares for an “empty seat at the table,” royal biographer Robert Jobson toldHello!.

For George, “It’s a chance for him to spread his wings and take part in things in the afternoons and evenings instead of going home to Mum and Dad,” Jobson said of George potentially boarding at school.

“You can’t just pop home when you want to,” Jobson added, emphasizing that George’s shift to boarding school will be major for the family, which also includes his siblings,Princess CharlotteandPrince Louis. “They are such a tight family unit,” he explained.

Both William and Kate “know what it was like,” Jobson continued, adding that the Prince and Princess of Wales “both boarded, so they know how it works.”

A friend of the Prince and Princess of Wales toldHello!that the family of five is “a great example of a happy family.” Kate has always been outspoken about giving her children as normal of a childhood as possible—despite the circumstances—and “William has always been intent on achieving that,” the friend added. “Catherine also comes from a near idyllic family background, what with her two amazing parents and close sibling relationships.”

As a palace insider toldPeople, “Those children look pretty happy with life. A lot of it is the stabilizing normality Kate brings—and that’s how she grew up. William absolutely loves it.”

“Coming from a different background, [Kate] appreciates the importance of having family time,” a source close to the royal household said. “She wasn’t brought up in that aristocratic setting where you see the children for a short time each day.”

A friend added that “Royal families over the generations haven’t had the chance to get those foundations right, but they have.”

While it’s still unclear exactly where George is headed in the fall, a source toldVanity Fairearlier this year, “While Eton would be the obvious choice because it is on their doorstep and where William went, they are leaning towards other schools. I’m hearing Marlborough is the frontrunner.”

Royal biographer Ingrid Seward told the outlet, “I expect we will be told later on in the summer at the very last minute, when the security detail has been organized, but clearly it’s an important consideration. It will require two protection officers taking it in turns to look after George while he’s at school.”

“William loved Eton and did well academically, but I don’t think we should assume George will follow suit,” she continued. “For a start, we are seeing William doing things differently. He is mindful of costs and appearances when it comes to his family and the future.”

Marlborough, a source toldVanity Fair, has an advantage because it is co-ed, meaning that all three of the Wales children could continue to attend school together, as they do now at Lambrook. “Kate had a great time at Marlborough and it ticks all the boxes,” the source said. “I think if they can, they would love for all three children to be at school together, which puts Marlborough as the top choice.”

US transportation secretary seeks $10 billion for air traffic control overhaul

WASHINGTON, April 21 (Reuters) - U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said he was seeking $10 billion from Congress for the next phase of a massive effort to modernize ‌America's aging air traffic control system and reduce systemic flight disruptions.

Last year, Congress awarded $12.5 ‌billion for the project to replace outdated technology and boost understaffed air traffic control towers. Much of the new proposed ​spending is to develop new software that could help make air travel much more efficient, Duffy told Reuters in an interview.

"The real magic truly is the software to manage the airspace," he said.

The FAA's air traffic telecom system has been hit by a series of failures, including serious outages covering Newark airport ‌traffic last year. The initial $12.5 billion ⁠followed decades of complaints over airport congestion and flight delays due in large part to creaky technology and understaffed towers.

The FAA in March was twice ⁠forced to halt all traffic to the Washington area's three airports for more than an hour because of issues with aging technology.

Duffy has requested more money for tower improvements and surface awareness technology. He has previously ​said ​he wants $19 billion more, but is asking Congress for $10 ​billion of that total.

Airlines often schedule traffic ‌in excess of FAA capacity. Duffy noted he can look out 45 days and see schedules 50% above capacity.

New software would allow the FAA to move flights to avoid delays. "This tool lets us see and then spread flights in a way that allows for way less disruption," Duffy said. "We could fix this."

A 2023 report said the FAA's communications system has been outdated for years and it can ‌no longer get spare parts for many systems. Of ​the FAA's 138 air traffic control telecoms systems, 51 were ​unsustainable, a separate report said.

At an event ​on Tuesday, Duffy said the FAA has already replaced nearly 50% of all ‌copper wires, converted 270 radio sites nationwide, ​installed new surface awareness ​systems at 54 airports and transitioned 17 towers to electronic flight strips.

"Rebuilding the infrastructure of our aviation system is not too big for America. We can actually get this done," ​Duffy told an aviation audience.

The FAA ‌said by the end of 2028, airports will have 5,000 new high-speed network connections ​on fiber, satellite and wireless, 27,000 new radios and 612 state-of-the-art radars.

Elizabeth Banks talks sexual health, reproductive care in revealing chat

NEW YORK, NY – I didn’t expect to start my morning playing a game of “Never Have I Ever” withElizabeth Banks. But there I was at a hotel restaurant in SoHo with a group of 15 women, all sharing intimate details of our sexual health.

The "Hunger Games" and "Pitch Perfect" actress, 52, is a longtime women’s health advocate, and she's using her platform to champion reproductive freedom and health care access. She’s teamed up withCadence OTC, a brand providing over-the-counter access toemergency contraceptionandurinary-tract infection (UTI) relief. She is an investor in the company.

“I’ve traveled the world, and I felt like the system for birth control here just didn’t match up with women’s lived reality,” she tells me over coffee in the restaurant’s courtyard.

Banks just spent six months in Canada filming her new comedy-drama Peacock series, “The Miniature Wife,” which also taps into themes of women’s autonomy and “the minimization of wants and needs,” she explains.

When Banks tried to renew her birth control in Canada – which she uses to manage menopause symptoms – her doctor back home said she could only get it one month at a time, and needed to call her doctor every three months for prescription refills.

“It was just like, why are women so disempowered when it comes to our health and bodies, when men don’t have to deal with this stuff?” she says.

The Supreme Court case Dobbs v. Jackson overturned Roe v. Wade and the constitutional right to abortion in 2022. At the same time,studieshave shown that states with the strictest abortion laws already have the weakest maternal health care support.

For example, 52.5% of the Arkansas and 49.2% of the Oklahoma populations lived inmaternity care deserts‒ areas where there are no obstetric providers or birth centers ‒ as of 2022. Both states have total abortion bans with limited exceptions. And as data has indicated some physiciansare deterred from practicing medicinein states with abortion bans,researcherswarn of implications for workforce sustainability and the availability of timely and accessible health care.

Banks says part of Cadence’s goal is to serve health care deserts by placing its contraceptive and UTI relief products in convenience stores, such as 7-Elevens, rather than pharmacies where these products already exist.

In the United States, there are150 counties where there is no pharmacy, and nearly 4.8 million people live in a county where there's approximately one pharmacy for every 10,000 residents.

‘The Miniature Wife’ represents ‘being made to feel small’

Banks stars as Lindy Littlejohn, a novelist with writer’s block married to Les (Matthew Macfadyen), a scientist on the verge of a breakthrough, in the new TV series “The Miniature Wife.” Already struggling with tension in their marriage, Les accidentally shrinks Lindy down to 6-inches tall.

Banks says this isn’t just a literal shrinkage, it’s a minimization of her character’s wants and needs.

“It’s this sense that women are often being made to feel small, like what we want and care about is less than,” she says.

It’s a pattern she sees “across the board of culture.” Movies are designated as “girl’s movies,” women’s sports are singled out, whereas men’s sports are just referred to as “sports.”

“It’s important to keep trying to change the language, access and conversation, because that all leads to just greater empowerment for women,” she adds.

‘I’m in menopause, for sure’

“I’m 52, so it would be really weird if I were still making babies,” Banks joked. But what comes along with menopause, she says, is an "incredible change in my physiology."

She feels “grateful” to be going through those changes during a time where conversations on women’s health have made it to the forefront, compared to the stigma experienced “just one generation” ago.

“We did not speak about these things,” she says. “Mothers passed on this information very quietly. We all read, ‘Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret,’ because we had to figure out how to have a period when we were 12 years old.”

The conversation is finally happening, she says, “because there are women with economic and therefore physical safety, able to speak out and say, ‘I need something.’ ”

While “Never Have I Ever” is usually played by mischievous tweens or drunken partiers, Banks used it to break through the taboo of sex, sex education and reproductive health. There were mimosas at brunch, but it wasn't yet 10 a.m. Soberly, us women at the table still divulged our personal experiences. For Banks, one of these tricky situations included receiving a call from her high school boyfriend in college, asking if she could talk to his new girlfriend about emergency contraception.

Despite uproar from the group, Banks shared that she helped the couple navigate the morning-after pill.

She spoke more about struggling to get her birth control pills for hormone replacement therapy while traveling out of the country.

“I'm still having issues when it comes to health care, even though I'm rich and famous and have access,” she quipped.

It helps create a sense of community, she says, when women learn these experiences and mishaps are more common than we think. But along with that camaraderie, Banks wants to see movement toward dismantling barriers to women’s health care.

“I just want to remind young women to take nothing for granted,” Banks says. “I hate using this word, but (what) the patriarchy steals from us is our time and energy, because it requires us to devote time and energy to our basic needs in a way that men do not have to.”
