On Aug. 26, the "Love Story" singer and NFL star Travis Kelce announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post. The couple shared romantic photos from their floral-filled proposal, captioned, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨."
The milestone came nearly two years after the pair first sparked dating rumors when the Kansas City Chiefs tight end revealed on his New Heights podcast — which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce — that he tried to give Swift his number during a stop on the Eras Tour. They confirmed their romance in October 2023, went Instagram official in June 2024 and made their red carpet debut in June 2025.
Things came full circle on Aug. 13 when Swift made her podcast debut on New Heights, shocking the internet (and breaking a Guinness World Record!) by announcing her 12th studio album.
"I'm just circling back to New Heights to say thank you for this," she said. Kelce then chimed in, "I'm the luckiest man in the world."

Swift's engagement ring boasts a massive Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond, a rectangle-cut diamond with antique references. The ring — which is estimated by Angelic Diamonds' Neil Dutta to be between 7 and 10 carats — appears to be a bezel setting, meaning it wraps around the center stone. The main diamond is flanked by "half-moon plus ... small round" side jewels, which give it "vintage" feel, per Jared Jewelers' VP of Merchandising Ann Grimmett.
According to Grimmett, the ring's center diamond appears to be a "5 to 6 [carat] elongated cushion cut, set in 18k yellow gold."

For his proposal, Kelce tapped jewelry designer Kindred Lubeck of brand Artifex Fine Jewelry, which houses luxury designs retailing upwards of $33,600.
The NFL tight end co-designed the sparkler alongside Lubeck, who gave the diamond antique references.

While the exact price of Swift's engagement ring is unknown, several jewelers have shared their estimates for the sparkler.
Hollywood jeweler and designer George Khalife estimates the rock to be between $3.5 and $5 million, while Dutta values it between approximately $1.3 and $1.5 million. Grimmett, however, believes the ring is priced much lower, between $125,000 and $175,000.

Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post on Aug. 26, sharing several sweet photos from their floral-filled garden proposal.
The singer then re-posted the carousel to her Instagram Stories, attaching her hit song, "So High School," which Swifties have long theorized she wrote about her relationship with the football player.
While the comments were turned off on the post, several members of their inner circle shared their celebratory reactions on their own profiles. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes re-posted the carousel, adding two red hearts and including Swift's "So High School" track.
Meanwhile, his wife Brittany Mahomes also shared the post to her Instagram Stories, writing, "Two of the most genuine people meet & fall in love. Just so happy for these two."
Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt, told PEOPLE that Swift and Kelce's engagement feels like a "modern fairytale unfolding in real life."
"I can't stop smiling," she said. "Their love story has captured so many hearts, and now it's stepping into an even more magical chapter."
