Donald Trump has announced his pick to lead the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Trump revealed on Monday he has chosen Susan Monarez, the agency's acting director since January, to assume the role permanently. If her nomination is confirmed by the Senate, she will the first CDC leader in 50 years who isn't a physician - but Trump is adamant she has what it takes. 'Dr. Monarez brings decades of experience, championing Innovation, Transparency, and srong Public Health systems,' the president wrote on Truth Social.
