Sydney Sweeney lands hot movie role in thriller based on English teacher's wild Reddit short story
Sydney Sweeney just signed on produce and star in a Gone Girl-style thriller called I Pretended to Be a Missing Girl, which Warner Bros. won the rights to in a competitive bidding war. Surprisingly, the source material came from English high school teacher Joe Cote, who wrote a wild short story on Reddit in 2021 about a homeless drifter who pretends she's missing woman Mikayla Murray in order to rob her family, but everything goes awry.
