A TEEN boy has today appeared in court charged with murdering a 12-year-old girl stabbed to death at a Christmas light switch on. Ava White suffered ...catastrophic injuries... after being assaulted in Liverpool city centre last week.
PAAva White was stabbed to death in Liverpool city centre '/ ' A 14-year-old boy, who legally can't be named, appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court today charged with murder. The teen is also facing a charge of possession of a bladed article. He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during the short hearing. The boy was remanded in secure accomodation to next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday. Three other boys, aged 13, 14 and 15, arrested on suspicion of murder have been conditionally bailed. Emergency crews rushed to the city centre on Thursday night as families gathered to watch the Christmas lights being switched on. Family member Dejuantrez Sherrell shared several snaps of Zacquez and Tavarius online as he posted a moving tribute after the victims were identified. He wrote on Facebook: "I wish I could hear yall say what up big bruddah one more time (sic)." Zacquez was a big basketball fan and was looking forward to his prom, graduating high school, and going to college. Meanwhile, Tavarius wanted to become an NFL player, according to a GoFundMe page created by his family. His family said the teen was "quiet" but he was always willing to help. Dozens of tributes have been paid to the teens on social media. Responding to Dejuantrez's post, one user said: "Praying hard for you and your family." Writing on Zacquez's Facebook page, another commented: "Rest in Peace to you and your brother young man. Condolences to your family." The four people, who were injured, were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. They're expected to survive after suffering non-life-threatening injuries. Three guns were recovered from the scene, according to police. Cops say robbery is being considered as a motive for the shooting which remains under investigation. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the Sherrell family cover funeral expenses and hospital bills. Nashville is located in Davidson County. Police data reveals there have been 491 gunshot victims, including homicides and injuries, in the county this year as of November 20, according to ABC. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 615-742-7463.

SWNSFedEx said it was investigating how the packages came to be in the woods '/ ' Deputies guarded the packages until FedEx workers could arrive to pick them up, Sheriff Mark Moon said. The delivery service sent multiple drivers from across the South to retrieve the packages. Pictures posted on the sheriff's Facebook page showed the packages scattered about the forest and piled up at the bottom of a wooded hillside. Natasha Abney told WBMA-TV that her neighbor found the boxes on his property. "I mean it was just a river of boxes," Abney said. "Some busted open, some not." The sheriff said it wasn't clear why the packages were in the ravine but said he hoped to have some answers in the near future. "The security of our customers' shipments is a top priority and we are committed to treating our customers' packages with the utmost care," Memphis, Tennessee-based FedEx said in a statement provided Friday. "We are taking steps to recover and transport the affected packages as quickly as possible," the company said. "In addition to cooperating with law enforcement, we are conducting a review of this situation and will take the appropriate action." The site where the packages were found is about 30 miles north of Birmingham.

Cops were called to a home on the 8000 block of Florida Avenue N. about a shooting that injured a child at around 10.20pm Thursday. Police found the boy had a single gunshot to his head. Efforts were made to save the boy's life but were unsuccessful, Bruley said. The 13-year-old along with several other juveniles were inside the residence handling a gun to make the social media video. "This is a very unfortunate accident that requires a very detailed investigation, which is ongoing right now," Bruley said. Another 13-year-old, an eight-year-old and another five-year-old were also in the room. Adults were home at the time of the shooting, but it's unclear who was supervising them and how they accessed the weapon. According to Bruley, police may pursue charges if they find the owner of the gun did not lock it up properly. The shooting is still being investigated. A neighbor with small kids told CBS Minnesota she feels for the victim's family but also for the 13-year-old, whose life is now forever changed. "I'm sure it's an accident, you know, I'm sure he is freaking out," she said. "He is only a kid so now he is losing his life and 5-year-old lost his life." This year, five people, including the child, have been fatally shot in Brooklyn Park. There have been nearly 130 incidents of shots fired and 23 people hit have been reported, according to the city's website. In 2020, two people were killed by gunfire, 38 people were stuck and 102 incidents of shots fired was recorded. ...We're seeing record numbers of shots fired, gun calls, guns being taken off the streets — the violence is unlike what we have seen before regarding weapons and guns,... Bruley said. ...It feels like (accidental shootings) are up because all too often we're going to calls involving guns, shots fired, whether it be intentional or accidental or other....
