It seems like there's a dirty word in Hollywood these days, and it's not (just) "brightness" or "rehab." It's "original." With absolutely zero of the 20 top-grossing films of the decade not being based on an existing intellectual property, it's clear that Hollywood has run screaming from new ideas.

That said, not all new ideas are good. In fact, maybe Hollywood should run faster and much farther sometimes. There's a lot of weirdos out there, and a lot of them want to (and have) committed their weird little visions to screens big and small.

That's why u/Duclaido asked r/AskReddit, "What's the weirdest movie you've ever watched?"

While Silver performed a song in her signature Ursula costume, her husband of 13 years watched proudly from the side of the stage

"Nobody does a live show at their house, and I love that we've kept a tradition that people don't do," Silver exclusively tells PEOPLE

Dick Van Dyke and his wife, Arlene Silver, are carrying on a spooky tradition.

On Friday, Oct. 31, PEOPLE got an exclusive look at the couple's annual Halloween at Vandy Manor event, during which Silver, 54, stars in and produces an extravagant Halloween show at their home in Malibu, Calif.

This year, Silver made her grand entrance dressed as her signature character, Ursula from The Little Mermaid, to lip sync to "Poor Unfortunate Souls" alongside her talented Vandy Manor Dancers.

For his part, Van Dyke, 99, watched proudly from the wings as his wife of 13 years went on to perform a dance to Lady Gaga's "Abracadabra" and Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy" for the children in the neighborhood.

"This is part of Dick that no one knows about him," Silver tells PEOPLE. "People associate him with Christmas, but he's totally Halloween all the way."

After all, Silver recalls Van Dyke telling her about how he used to "have the thing on the street" back in the '50s and '60s. And while their version of the event started with a few monsters and backyard decorations, it quickly came to include everything from scare actors and life-like animatronics to professional puppeteers and belly dancing.

"We did a lip sync on the porch — on the steps in the middle, the front — and people loved it," Silver remembers of their first few years hosting Halloween at Vandy Manor, around a decade ago. "And we did it 10 times, and Dick was like, 'Oh my God, we got to get a stage. We got to get lights.' So then I started doing that."

In recent years, Silver has continued to build upon the stage show, which has become a fan favorite, and has decided to make the extravaganza a bit more family-friendly.

"We have a little bit of everything," she tells PEOPLE. "The stage show is more of a variety show, and it's more for kids. Little kids can come — sometimes little kids were too scared for the big monsters — and now almost everyone is in costume. That's the thing I love. I love that everybody's in costume, and Dick, he loves to watch the show. I'm his favorite. He sits there and watches my show."

To prove just how much effort they put into the annual festivities, Van Dyke even has his own animatronic that features his voice reciting the opening monologue to Michael Jackson's "Thriller."

"I just get so proud of it, how it started as kind of a filler thing that, 'Oh, I guess we'll just do this one year,' and how it's grown to be bigger than that and so unique," Silver emphasizes. "Nobody does a live show at their house, and I love that we've kept a tradition that people don't do."

Ohio State wide receiver Brandon Inniss confidently told reporters Wednesday that Julian Sayin will win the Heisman Trophy this season.

Why?

"They'll see the rest of the year," Inniss said.

Three days later, Sayin's Heisman campaign lifted off against his former defensive coordinator. Jim Knowles, who surprisingly left Ohio State for Penn State after helping the Buckeyes win it all last season and became the highest-paid DC in the sport this offseason.

Knowles' Nittany Lions unit was sliced and diced in his return to Columbus on Saturday. Although Penn State forced and recovered a fumble late in the second quarter to set up a quick touchdown drive that cut the Buckeyes' lead to three before halftime, Sayin's downfield bombardment ultimately left Penn State searching for more answers after a 38-14 loss, the Nittany Lions' fifth in a row and second straight since interim head coach Terry Smith took over for the fired James Franklin.

Sayin entered as far and away the nation's most accurate passer with an 80% completion rate. He lived up to the reputation against Penn State, especially in the early going.

The second-year Buckeyes signal-caller connected on his first 10 pass attempts and finished 20-of-23 passing for 316 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Sayin first found star wideout Jeremiah Smith for a 14-yard score to round out Ohio State's surgical game-opening drive. He saw safety Zakee Wheatley crashing down, and he attacked the space the Buckeyes' RPO created, whipping a dart to Smith for six.

A 22-yard Jayden Fielding field goal staked Ohio State to a 10-0 advantage. That's when Penn State started to put up a fight.

The Nittany Lions rushed for 76 yards over the first two quarters, the most the Buckeyes have allowed in a first half this season. Both of Penn State's seasoned running backs, Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton, got going, and Singleton capped a 15-play, 75-yard drive with a touchdown from three yards out on a toss sweep that was complemented by a jumbo package.

Along the way, Penn State quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer — not far from his hometown of Lewis Center, Ohio — converted a third-and-9 and then a third-and-10 with strikes to receivers Devonte Ross and Liam Clifford, respectively.

Sayin, a top-10 quarterback from the 2024 recruiting class like Grunkemeyer, quickly responded. He completed his first of two long balls to wideout Carnell Tate.

This one came with a reservation for six. Tate held up to reel in a slightly underthrown heave from Sayin over Penn State cornerback Zion Tracy, turned and dove to complete a 45-yard touchdown. Sayin kept the drive alive earlier by evading Nittany Lions defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton and juking linebacker Keon Wylie before scrambling for a first down on third-and-5.

The game appeared to turn with a rare Ohio State turnover. While Buckeyes running back CJ Donaldson fought for extra yards, Penn State linebacker Amare Campbell ripped the ball loose, and defensive end Chaz Coleman hopped on it for a recovery that gave the Nittany Lions a short field.

Four plays later, Allen punched the rock in for a 1-yard score that made it a 17-14 game.

That's as close as Sayin let Penn State get.

He came back with two more touchdown passes in the second half.

But first, he let Tate run underneath a 57-yard dime that set the stage for a redeeming Donaldson scoring plunge.

— FOX College Football (@CFBONFOX) November 1, 2025

Shortly after a 57-yard hookup with Smith, Sayin rolled off a play fake and found tight end Bennett Christian in the back corner of the end zone late in the third quarter. In the fourth, his deflected red-zone pass bounced up in the air and into Smith's right claw for an 11-yard touchdown that stretched the Buckeyes' lead to 24.

Smith clocked out with 6 catches, 123 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. Tate made 5 grabs for 124 yards and a score.

An Ohio State defense antsy to make up for allowing 14 first-half points shut down Penn State in the second half. Defensive end Kenyatta Jackson Jr. sacked Grunkemeyer twice throughout the afternoon. He also batted down a pass. Safety Caleb Downs picked one off.

Sayin, though, was the star in the Horseshoe on Saturday against Penn State.

He could be on his way to making Inniss look prophetic.

ROME (AP) — Napoli goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic saved another penalty but the Serie A leader was held to a 0-0 draw at home by Como on Saturday.

Midway through the first half, Milinkovic-Savic took down Alvaro Morata as the Como striker came streaking in on goal.

Then Milinkovic-Savic lunged to his left to stop Morata's spot kick for his sixth save from the last 10 penalties he has faced.

Having lost Kevin De Bruyne to a long-term injury, the defending champion had Rasmus Hojlund back after a physical issue but still struggled to create chances.

Napoli moved one point clear of Roma, which visits AC Milan on Sunday.

Cesc Fabregas' Como remained fifth but moved within one point of fourth-place Milan.

Napoli remained unbeaten at home for nearly a year — since getting beat by Lazio last December.

Later, Luciano Spalletti was making his debut as Juventus' coach at promoted Cremonese.

Earlier, Udinese beat Atalanta 1-0 to hand the Bergamo squad its first loss of the season. Nicolò Zaniolo scored before the break for his third goal in four matches as Udinese leapfrogged Atalanta and moved up to eighth place.

Having drawn its previous five matches, Atalanta's winless streak reached six games.

MANCHESTER, England (AP) — Arsenal extended its lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points on Saturday after a 2-0 win against Burnley.

Manchester United missed the chance to provisionally move up to second, but maintained its recent unbeaten run by scoring late to salvage a 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest.

Bottom of the table Wolverhampton remains winless after yet another defeat - losing 3-0 to Fulham.

Crystal Palace beat Brentford 2-0 and Brighton won 3-0 against Leeds.

TORONTO (AP) — Shohei Ohtani will start Game 7 of the World Series for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the Toronto Blue Jays, showcasing the two-way star on the mound in the sport's biggest game.

Starting Ohtani makes more sense for the Dodgers than using him in relief.

Under a rule adopted for the 2022 season, pitchers who start games in the batting order can remain in the game as a designated hitter after leaving the mound. If Ohtani would start the game only as a DH and then would take the mound, the Dodgers would lose their DH and pitchers would have to bat in that slot if Ohtani was relieved.

Ohtani has never pitched in relief during his Major League Baseball career. He made a handful of relief appearances in Japan for the Pacific League's Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, mostly as a rookie in 2013. He closed out Japan's victory in the 2023 World Baseball Classic final against the United States, striking out then-Los Angeles Angels teammate Mike Trout for the final out.

Ohtani is batting .318 in the World Series with three homers, five RBIs and eight walks. He is 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA, striking out six and walking one in his Game 4 start as he threw 93 pitches.

Max Scherzer is to start for Toronto, becoming only the fourth pitcher to start multiple winner-take-all Game 7s.

Only Bob Gibson (1964, '67, '68) and Lew Burdette and Don Larsen (both 1957 and '58) have started multiple winner-take-all Game 7s in the World Series. Burleigh Grimes started Game 7 in 1920 and '31, but his first was in a year the Series was best-of-nine.

Scherzer also started the last World Series Game 7 in 2019, boosted by a cortisone injection for an irritated nerve near his neck. Mad Max didn't have a clean inning and left after five trailing by two runs before his Washington Nationals rallied to win 6-2 in Houston.

A 41-year-old right-hander and three time Cy Young Award winner, Scherzer allowed three runs and five hits over 4 1/3 innings in Game 3 on Monday, which the Dodgers won in 18 innings. ___

MicroStrategy Falls Short Of Investment Grade In First S&P Global Credit Ranking

S&P Global Ratings has assigned a so-called junk bond rating to Bitcoin treasury company Strategy (NASDAQ:MSTR).

The ratings firm on Monday assigned Strategy a B- rating with a stable outlook, well below its investment-grade threshold, citing the company's "high bitcoin concentration, narrow business focus, weak risk-adjusted capitalization, and low U.S. dollar liquidity."

The rating falls into S&P's speculative grade. It suggests that the company is "able to service debt for now, but vulnerable to shocks," VanEck Head of Digital Assets Research Matthew Sigel said in an X post.

Over the past five years, Strategy has shifted its focus from software to issuing debt to accumulate Bitcoin. This has made its stock a proxy for the digital asset for investors who either cannot access the asset directly or do not want to.

S&P said that while Strategy's debt obligations were denominated in dollars, the company had low dollar liquidity because it does not generate cash and all excess cash is used for Bitcoin purchases and company operations.

S&P said Strategy's model depended on the company's ability to raise capital, including to meet debt obligations. The firm warned that ability could be significantly hampered in a Bitcoin downturn, which could lead to a default or the company selling its Bitcoin holdings at lower prices as a last resort.

Still, Strategy's credit rating has been celebrated by some proponents. For example, Strategy Chair Michael Saylor on X said that the company was the first Bitcoin treasury firm to receive a major credit rating.

Meanwhile, BTC Inc. CEO David Bailey said, "The market demand for treasury companies is about to explode."

S&P said it could upgrade Strategy's rating if the company improved its dollar liquidity, reduced its reliance on convertible debt and continued to demonstrate a strong ability to raise capital even in Bitcoin downturns.

However, an upgrade is unlikely in the next 12 months, S&P added.

While spring may be well in the rearview now, there's never a bad time to review and update your finances the way you might clean out a closet or reorganize your home. In fact, the end of the year is an excellent time for a financial overview as you prepare for tax season.

Find Out: 9 Downsizing Tips for the Middle Class To Save on Monthly Expenses

Experts shared how to recognize when it's time to give your finances a thorough refresh.

Trending Now: Suze Orman's Secret to a Wealthy Retirement--Have You Made This Money Move?

1. Missed Payments or Overdraft Charges

The first sign that you need a financial review is a late payment or overdraft charge, followed by an interest charge or fee, according to Michael Sullivan, personal finance consultant at Take Charge America.

He added that your money should work for you, not against you.

"Thanks to cash-back features, credit cards should present a financial gain every month, and there are banks and credit unions that do not charge fees for regular services. Banking should be free, and bank fees should be a red flag," he said.

Be Aware: 4 Surprising Things That Could Impact Your Wallet If a Recession Hits

2. Running Out of Money Each Month

If you're reaching the end of each month with little left in your account and juggling multiple credit card balances, it's time to reorganize your finances, said Ruchi Pinniger, founder and CEO of Watch Her Prosper, a financial consulting company.

"Start by looking at how much is coming in and going out each month. Let go of judgment. See this simply as information. Then step back and think about your short- and long-term goals. What do you want? How and where do you want to live? What brings you joy?" she said.

3. You're Avoiding Your Bank Statements

If you're avoiding your financial statements, this is what Sullivan called "the traditional sign of complete collapse." He added, "Consumers who cannot even look have given up and are about to face serious consequences."

Pinniger said the first step toward a financial refresh is a mindset shift. She recommended an approach she calls her "RIR Method" — recognize, interrupt and reframe:

Recognize when you are having a negative money thought.

Interrupt it.

Reframe the thought with a more positive one.

For example, replace "There is so much debt and never enough money in the bank" with "There is always enough to pay the bills. I am so grateful."

4. You Have Anxiety About Money

A less severe but still important indicator that you need to review your finances is persistent anxiety about money that affects your sleep or health, Sullivan said.

"Consumers who worry about money to the point that it is impacting their sleep and health need to get help immediately, regardless of their actual financial condition."

5. You Have Significant Debt and Decreasing Savings

Debt is another major warning sign, Sullivan said. "If debt is increasing, or even not decreasing, that is the worst sign of financial distress."

A decrease in savings is the second-worst sign. "Savings should increase each month unless there is an emergency like an illness, accident or job loss," he said.

Not knowing whether your debt or savings are changing is also a red flag — it indicates confusion and the need for external help to get organized, he added.

6. You're Putting It Off Because You Think It Takes Time

Normal financial maintenance is easy. Just updating your budget with actual expenditures, filing receipts and checking account balances should be a monthly routine that takes about 30 minutes at most.

If you can't compute your net worth in 30 minutes or less, you need a reset. And if you haven't done routine maintenance in four months or more, you're starting over, Sullivan said.

7. You Don't Have a Financial Plan

Every consumer should have a financial plan, Sullivan said, one that includes goals for retirement and other key life events.

"That plan needs to be reviewed each year and every time there is a life-changing event. Recent increases in inflation, coupled with uncertainty about the future of Social Security, should cause consumers to consider increasing their savings goals for retirement."

8. You Don't Have an Emergency Fund

If you don't have an emergency fund with enough to cover three to six months' worth of expenses, it's time for a review, Sullivan said. "Any consumer who has not increased emergency fund contributions is taking a risk. Emergencies today cost far more than they did a few years ago, and a few thousand dollars won't cover many things like illnesses and accidents."

9. It's the End of the Year

Any time is a good time to review your finances, but everyone should do an end-of-year checkup, Sullivan advised.

"New Year's Day is the perfect time to review the plans you made for the year and compare them to actual results."

He suggested comparing what you owe, what you spent and what your assets are versus the previous year, then setting new goals for the year ahead.

Whether it's spring, year-end or anytime in between, taking the time to "clean up" your finances can reveal hidden problems, reduce stress and set you up for a stronger, more confident financial future.

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've seen people clad in FUBU gear. The fashion brand — whose name stands for "For Us, By Us" — has generated more than $6 billion in global sales since its founding in 1992. FUBU's founder, Daymond John, has become a sought-after mentor for business owners around the world. Since 2009, he's been one of the stars of "Shark Tank," offering insights to aspiring entrepreneurs.

John's success is even more inspiring considering he started FUBU in his mother's house in Hollis, Queens. In the process of growing his own business — and investing in countless others — John has seen firsthand what works and, more importantly, what doesn't, when it comes to long-term business sustainability.

GOBankingRates caught up with John in an exclusive interview for our Top 100 Money Experts series to get his take on the number one reason new businesses fail. His answer is surprisingly simple: Many entrepreneurs aren't honest with themselves about what they want — or how to get it.

"Not being honest with yourself is really the number one reason for failure," John said. "You've got to understand — what's your why?"

In other words, without a personal north star guiding you, it's easy for your business to falter. Fortunately, John offers wisdom to help you get back on course.

Be Honest With Yourself

Many people are drawn to the more glamorous aspects of being a business owner — showing off a CEO title or dazzling Instagram followers with storefront photos. Others enter entrepreneurship out of obligation, such as taking over a family business.

But impressing others or honoring a legacy won't make marketing, bookkeeping or inventory management any easier. Eventually, fear of failure kicks in — and even if you're struggling, it can feel embarrassing to admit entrepreneurship isn't for you.

"You want to do the business because you want to be famous. You don't want to close the business because you've made it such a big deal," John said. "The numbers don't work, but you're ashamed to show up at church on Sunday because you had to close that store."

Your shame, however, won't change the numbers. John encourages entrepreneurs to be honest about what they truly want — even if that means walking away.

Obsess Over the Customer — Not the Transaction

One of John's earliest business ventures began when he noticed a trend: wool ski hats with their tops tied off using fishing line were popular — and overpriced at $20 each. He and his next-door neighbor started making and selling their own for $10 apiece — and they sold fast. From that moment, a billion-dollar business was born.

That experience taught John the importance of focusing on customer needs. Caring about your audience builds loyalty — the kind that sustains a business during slow seasons. John pointed out that even responding to customer complaints can be a way of showing respect and fostering loyalty. Many entrepreneurs, John said, fail because they treat customers as mere transactions.

"These business owners are not building a culture or community. They're transactional, and usually those things pop after a while," he said. "They can't rebound when the hiccup comes. Maybe they'll open a different business, but they can't rebound in that one."

John added that the most profitable products at major corporations often begin with customer complaints. By listening and responding, you turn critics into loyal ambassadors — people eager to share how you made things right.

"The best investment you can make is answering a customer complaint," he said.

Don't Get Caught Up in Fast Growth

Social media is full of entrepreneurs boasting about instant success. John challenges this mindset, warning that scaling too quickly doesn't always equate to building a business that can last.

"You're doing really good for the next six months or even a year," he said. "Then suddenly something's going to cap out, right? If you're not growing that business itself and competition comes in, you're priced out."

Fast growth can mask deeper issues, like a weak customer base or poor margins. John recommends surrounding yourself with people who are invested in your growth and focusing on sustainable, steady progress. When you understand your "why," you'll have the patience to do things the right way — not just the flashy way.

Show Discipline With the Numbers — Even the Hidden Ones

Tracking every aspect of your finances — especially the less obvious ones — may not be glamorous, but it's essential.

John urges business owners to watch out for phantom costs: ongoing expenses that often fly under the radar. These can include equipment maintenance, hidden subscription fees, payment processing charges or marketing costs.

"If you really go by the numbers, you can make conscious decisions on the things you want to do," he said. "Right now, you can even run the numbers through AI and say, 'What margin am I supposed to be running off of this business?' But you have to be willing to look at it."

Mastering your numbers gives you the power to make informed, strategic decisions — not just hopeful ones.

Set the Right Goals

Ask any business owner about their goals, and most will say they want to make money. But according to John, that's not specific enough. Entrepreneurs who set clear, measurable goals are more likely to understand the steps needed to achieve them.

"Set your goals, then research or do homework on how to accomplish those goals," he said. "But if your why is wrong — if you're doing it because that's what your parents did, or because you're afraid of what people will think — then you're going to set the wrong goals. You'll do the wrong homework for the wrong reasons."

When you're honest about your motivations, your goals become easier to define — and far more attainable.

Bottom Line

If anyone knows how to build a business from the ground up, it's Daymond John. His biggest advice? Know yourself — and know your "why." Without that honesty, even the most promising business can crumble under pressure.

Robert Plant, 77, never, ever pulls his punches when it comes to speaking his mind about his work with Led Zeppelin. Most notably, the singer has panned request after request to sing the iconic song "Stairway to Heaven" due to the fact that he, well, kind of loathes it.

The "Golden God" also noted that he and his fellow living bandmates Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones feel that the song (and a reunion) belong in the past because they want to remember it for what it was.

However, in 2023 Plant put his trepidation aside and sang the iconic eight-minute tune for the first time in 16 years at a benefit concert organized by Duran Duran's Andy Taylor.

The version he sang was much more subdued, but fans were still in awe of how he made the song work for his current vocal range — and generally praised the genius of the enduring song.

"When I first heard 'Stairway' (1977) I truly believed music could show you your destiny... let music lead you… follow it to happiness, your fate," said one longtime loyal fan.

"Robert Plant singing this song today is even more intense than when it was released," another claimed.

The last time Plant played the song publicly was in 2007, when the surviving Zeppelin members reunited for a one-night-only set for an Ahmet Ertegun tribute show in London.

In 2022, Plant got candid with Rolling Stoneabout the song and in particular his feelings on the lyrics.

"When I hear it in isolation, I feel overwhelmed for every single reason you could imagine," he confessed. "There was a mood and an air of trying to make it through. The world is a different place. Everybody was reeling from Vietnam and the usual extra helping of corruption with politics. There were people who were really eloquent who brought it home far less pictorially and did a much better job of reaching that point. But I am what I am, and as my grandfather said, 'I can't be more 'am'-erer.'"

Zachary Quinto chose to boldly go *exactly* where he's been before Monday when his *Brilliant Minds* character, Dr. Oliver Wolf, dressed as *Star Trek*'s Spock for his Halloween costume.

Quinto, of course, played the famous half-human, half-Vulcan in the 2009 *Star Trek* movie, as well as in 2013's *Star Trek Into Darkness* and 2016's *Star Trek Beyond*.

"Live long and prosper," read the caption on a short video of Quinto's Wolf as Spock and his *Brilliant Minds* costar Tamberla Perry's Dr. Carol Pierce as Uhura, which Zoe Saldaña played the films.

Of course they made the Vulcan sign.

Quinto was all about the nod to his earlier work, showrunner Michael Grassi revealed to TV Insider.

"We came up with the idea in the room, and when we brought it to Zachary, he was so excited to include this Easter egg," Grassi said. "If you listen carefully in that scene, you'll hear that the elevator also sounds different — another fun nod for *Star Trek* fans."**

Quinto has been open about his love for the role of Spock.

"It was an incredible experience," he said on *The Jennifer Hudson Show* in August. "But it's something, a role that was so iconic already. To take it over from Leonard Nimoy — the late, great Leonard Nimoy — with whom I got to become incredibly close friends, that was for me, the most meaningful part of the experience probably. The most helpful part of the experience was his support and guidance."

The two became "really great friends," he noted of the actor who is credited in the first two of the three movies. Nimoy died in 2015.

"I also became friends with all the actors that I worked with on that movie, and I love them all," Quinto said.**

Quinto told Hudson that he "would love to do it again," and he thinks the rest of the cast would too.

The *Star Trek* trilogy Quinto starred in costarred a cast that also included Chris Pine, Zoe Saldaña, the late Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Simon Pegg, and Karl Urban.

Besides, he already has access to the character's signature ears.**

"I have a few pairs of ears," Quinto revealed in an October 2020 interview with NPR. "I think it's probably in the ballpark of a dozen, because we've made three films now, and it was a new pair of ears every day on the movie. So, you know, it's not like they were going to miss them. And at the end of the day, they just cut them, they just shredded them and threw them away."

He decided that he should take a couple.

Now in its second season, his newer project takes place right here on Earth in a hospital. The medical procedural, inspired by the life of neurologist Oliver Sacks, follows Wolf as he struggles with his own mental health while trying to solve patients' health mysteries.

*Brilliant Minds* airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.**
