Appreciation for Korean pop culture continues to grow with each passing year, spanning music, television, and movies. For horror films in particular, Korean viewers are already accustomed to the evocative imagery and genre-bending thrills from directors like Bong Joon Ho and Park Chan-wook, but global audiences are now seeking them out in greater numbers than ever before.

What tends to distinguish Korean horror is its emphasis on thematic resonance. Rather than going for the cheap jump scares often seen in Hollywood horror movies, the best Korean horror resonates on a deeper level, tackling grief, trauma, and societal issues with unflinching focus. They can be nihilistic and cruel at times, but these films covet narrative above all else, which helps them linger in your mind for weeks after watching.

Ahead, ** ranks the 25 best Korean horror movies of all time.

25. Acacia (2003)

Shim Hye-jin as Choi Mi-sook in 'Acacia'

Shim Hye-jin as Choi Mi-sook in 'Acacia'.

An understated creepy-kid movie with an occult twist, this horror film from director Park Ki-hyung (who also directed *Whispering Corridors*, which we'll discuss later) plants folk horror in the suburbs. Six-year-old Jin-seung (Moon Woo-bin) is having trouble fitting in with his adoptive parents (Shim Hye-jin and Kim Jin-geun) — a state of affairs that grows more distressing with the birth of a new baby. But the lonely little boy does have a strange bond with the acacia tree in his family's backyard... *—Katie Rife*

24. The Mimic (2017)

A Korean ghost story where those who are closest to us are also the ones we should fear, this film is based on the urban legend of the *Jangsan beom*. It's a white, furry creature that supposedly lives in the mountains near Busan, looks like a cross between a sloth and a dog, and lures children out into the woods so it can eat them. It can also take on the form of departed loved ones, which is how a family recently relocated to the Jangsan countryside gets sucked into its supernatural world. *—K.R.*

23. The Red Shoes (2005)

A close-up of pink pumps from 'The Red Shoes'

A close-up of pink pumps from 'The Red Shoes'.

This hidden gem of 2000s Asian cinema is only loosely based on the 1845 fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen (for one thing, the shoes in this movie are pink). Instead, it uses Andersen's premise as a launching pad for a horror story about sexism in Korean society. As the film begins, a mother (Kim Hye-soo) and her young daughter (Park Yeon-ah) have just moved into a new apartment after Mom caught Dad cheating. Then, they find the titular shoes on a subway platform and discover that they have a seductive, evil power. Though the 1948 British drama of the same name may be the most famous iteration, this twisted modern take is palpably tense and absolutely worth your time. *—K.R.*

22. #Alive (2020)

Yoo Ah-in as Oh Joon-woo in '#Alive'

Yoo Ah-in as Oh Joon-woo in '#Alive'.

The timing of this Korean horror-thriller couldn't have been better. Released on Netflix in September 2020, the film revolves around a reclusive gamer, Joon-woo (Yoo Ah-in), who locks himself up inside his apartment after realizing that a deadly virus is raging outside. Sound familiar? Of course, there's one key difference: In the movie, the virus turns people into flesh-eating zombies. The addition of a resourceful neighbor, Yoo-bin (Park Shin-hye), takes the action to the streets, kicking up the excitement in the process. *—K.R.*

Where to watch *#Alive*: Netflix**

21. Spider Forest (2004)

Kam Woo-sung as Kang Min in 'Spider Forest'

Kam Woo-sung as Kang Min in 'Spider Forest'.

Fans of Christopher Nolan's *Memento *(2001) will find a lot to love in this edgy, cleverly constructed 2004 horror-mystery hybrid, which begins with reporter Kang Min (Kam Woo-sung) discovering his girlfriend close to death from multiple stab wounds and bleeding out next to a stranger's corpse. If that's not bad enough, Kang Min wakes up in the hospital, where a detective informs him that he's the main suspect in both murders. Although he barely remembers what happened, Kang Min must try to piece together what happened to clear his name. *—K.R.*

20. Seoul Station (2016)

Hye-sun (voice: Shim Eun-kyung) in 'Seoul Station'

Hye-sun (voice: Shim Eun-kyung) in 'Seoul Station'. Finecut/Next Entertainment World/Studio Dadashow

An animated prequel to the zombie mega-hit *Train to Busan* released in the same year by the same director, *Seoul Station *matches its predecessor's intensity while amping up the social commentary. The story takes place at the titular train station, where an injured elderly man shuffles across the platform as commuters look on with disgust. Then, the man transforms into a violent, flesh-eating zombie, and all hell — with a side of George Romero-style class warfare — breaks loose. *—K.R.*

Where to watch *Seoul Station*: Amazon Prime Video**

19. Hansel and Gretel (2007)

Eun Won-jae as Kim Man-bok, Shim Eun-kyung as Kim Young-hee, and Jin Ji-hee as Kim Jung-soon in 'Hansel and Gretel'

Eun Won-jae as Kim Man-bok, Shim Eun-kyung as Kim Young-hee, and Jin Ji-hee as Kim Jung-soon in 'Hansel and Gretel'.

Another Korean movie based on European folklore, *Hansel and Gretel* draws its inspiration from the Brothers Grimm story of the same name. The film has the same grotesque nightmare quality as a fairy tale — the old-fashioned ones, anyway — but changes up the story so that it's an adult, Lee Eun-soo (Chun Jung-myung), who stumbles upon an idyllic cottage in the middle of the woods. There, he finds three children who appear to be held captive by their parents. But nothing is as it seems in this beautiful, grisly, horror fantasy. *—K.R.*

Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc.

Whoever thought digging up and relocating a buried body would be a good idea? This horror blockbuster centers on a shaman who exhumes a grave in the hope of breaking a wealthy family's ancestral curse. That means a huge payday for the shaman and his team, but no amount of money is worth the unholy hell unleashed. As the sins of the past come to the surface, the film only accelerates, providing high entertainment and thematic resonance all at once. —*Kevin Jacobsen***

17. Bedevilled (2010)

Seo Young-hee as Kim Bok-nam in 'Bedevilled'

Seo Young-hee as Kim Bok-nam in 'Bedevilled'.

You may be tempted to turn off *Bedevilled* by the halfway mark, given the heaps of abuse — physical, emotional, and sexual — one of its female leads endures. But, if you stick it out through the end, that horror gives way to violent, bloody catharsis as Bok-nam (Seo Young-hee) turns the tables on her cruel family and piggish husband. She does so with the help of her childhood friend, Hae-won (Ji Sung-won), a businesswoman from the big city who managed to escape a life like Bok-nam's on the remote island where they grew up. *—K.R.*

16. The Call (2020)

Park Shin-hye as Kim Seo-yeon in 'The Call'

Park Shin-hye as Kim Seo-yeon in 'The Call'.

Combining crime and supernatural elements, this critically acclaimed film traverses many decades for an unusual time-travel twist on serial-killer thrillers. Park Shin-hye stars as Kim Seo-yeon, a woman who recently returned to her childhood home to care for her ailing mother. There, she discovers that the landline connects her to Oh Young-sook (Jeon Jong-seo), who lived in the same house 20 years earlier. The two form a bond across time — until Seo-yeon starts to realize the dark, causal implications of their seemingly friendly phone calls. *—K.R.*

15. The Medium (2021)

Narilya Gulmongkolpech as Mink in 'The Medium'

Narilya Gulmongkolpech as Mink in 'The Medium'.

Unusually well-shot for a found footage horror movie, this Korean-Thai co-production presents itself as a mockumentary about a Northern Thai woman who claims to be possessed by a goddess. Nim (Sawanee Utoomma) says that her ancestral gift gives her the power to heal both physical and spiritual maladies. But the way her niece, who's due to be initiated into the family legacy, is acting makes it seem more like a curse. It's a slow build that becomes increasingly violent with each excruciating moment, but the finale will leave your jaw on the floor. *—K.R.*

14. The Quiet Family (1998)

Song Kang-ho as Yeong-min Kang, Lee Yoon-seong as Mi-su Kang, Na Moon-hee as Mrs. Kang, Park In-hwan as Tae-gu Kang, Choi Min-sik as Chang-ku Kang in 'The Quiet Family'

Song Kang-ho as Yeong-min Kang, Lee Yoon-seong as Mi-su Kang, Na Moon-hee as Mrs. Kang, Park In-hwan as Tae-gu Kang, Choi Min-sik as Chang-ku Kang in 'The Quiet Family'.

A black comedy so dark that it becomes a horror movie, *The Quiet Family* was a hit in South Korea and inspired redos from both Japan (Takashi Miike's *The Happiness of the Katakuris*) and India, where it was remade in three different languages. The premise has the potential for slapstick silliness, as an incompetent Seoul family fumbles its way through opening a hunting lodge in the Korean countryside. Then, all their guests start dying by suicide, one after the other... *—K.R.*

13. Monstrum (2018)

Park Sung-woong as Jin-yong in 'Monstrum'

Park Sung-woong as Jin-yong in 'Monstrum'.

Set in the 16th century and supposedly based on true events, this monster movie plays with the audience's expectations by remaining coy about whether its monster is actually real or the byproduct of Joseon dynasty palace intrigue. Spoiler alert: The monster is definitely real, a lion-bear hybrid covered in disgusting bloody pustules. Throw in period romance, a pair of wisecracking soldiers, and the occasional fart joke, and you've got a rip-roaring creature feature whose entertainment factor is off the charts. *—K.R.*

12. Whispering Corridors (1998)

Kim Seo-hyeong as No Eun-hee in 'Whispering Corridors 6: The Humming'.

Lotte Entertainment

Park Ki-hyung's eerie ghost story uses an all-girls boarding school as a launching pad for supernatural horror. Touching on sensitive subjects like bullying and suicide, *Whispering Corridors* struck such a chord with Korean youth that it launched a franchise that continued into the 2020s. We also highly recommend the 1999 sequel, *Memento Mori,* both for its heart-stopping scare scenes and then-taboo lesbian theme. *—K.R.*

11. Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum (2018)

Park Ji-hyun as Ji-hyun in Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum'

Park Ji-hyun as Ji-hyun in Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum'.

Set inside a former psychiatric hospital known as "one of the most haunted places in South Korea," this found-footage horror movie starts off light, then turns terrifying as six YouTubers filming in the building for laughs realize that the legends about Gonjiam are actually true. Director Jum Bung-shik cleverly uses the spooky location and visual format, leading to several moments of terror. Shortly after the release of this movie, the real Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital was torn down. Coincidence? You decide. *—K.R.*

10. Sleep (2023)

Jung Yu-mi as Soo-jin in 'Sleep'

Jung Yu-mi as Soo-jin in 'Sleep'.

Jason Yu's feature debut was a hit in South Korea in the fall of 2023. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival that summer, where it got rave reviews from critics hailing this story of a woman whose insomnia tests her marriage — and her sanity. Much of the film rests on a razor's edge between funny and frightening, which makes its twists and turns all the more surprising. Add a bravura finale, and you've got an instant Korean horror classic. *—K.R.*

Where to watch *Sleep*: Hulu**

9. Three...Extremes (2004)

Lee Byung-hun as Director in 'Three...Extremes'

Lee Byung-hun as Director in 'Three...Extremes'.

Only one of the segments in this horror anthology comes from a Korean director. (The other two filmmakers, Fruit Chan and Takashi Miike, are from Hong Kong and Japan, respectively.) But the Korean segment,* Cut*, is elegant and cruel in a way that only the great Park Chan-wook can pull off. The story revolves around a famous film director and his pianist wife, who are held hostage by a resentful background actor. But the real draw here is* Cut*'s elaborate torture device, which uses piano wire in inventive and shocking ways. *—K.R.*

8. Save the Green Planet! (2003)

Shin Ha-kyun as Lee Byeong-gu in 'Save the Green Planet!'

Shin Ha-kyun as Lee Byeong-gu in 'Save the Green Planet!'.

CJ Entertainment

Jang Joon-hwan's *Save the Green Planet *was optioned for a remake by *Poor Things* director Yorgos Lanthimos and star Emma Stone (*Bugonia*, released in theaters on Oct. 24). And if you've seen the original movie, that tracks. This bizarre and, at times, quite disturbing horror/sci-fi/comedy hybrid is strange and singular in a way that's similar to Lanthimos' work, telling the story of a conspiracy theorist who's convinced that the CEO tied up in his basement is an alien intent on destroying the Earth. But is he really? *—K.R.*

*Save the Green Planet!* is not available to stream.**

7. Thirst (2009)

Song Kang-ho as Fr. Sang-hyun in 'Thirst'

Song Kang-ho as Fr. Sang-hyun in 'Thirst'.

Aside from *Cut *in* Three…Extremes*, *Thirst* is the only true horror movie in Park Chan-wook's filmography. And it's got all of the sumptuous style you'd expect from the director of *The Handmaiden* (2016)*.* Song Kang-ho stars as Sang-hyun, a Catholic priest who contracts a virus while on a mission trip that makes him super-strong and inhumanly agile — and gives him a burning appetite for human blood. Things get complicated (and very bloody) when Sang-hyun begins a torrid affair with housewife Tae-Ju (Kim Ok-bin), leading to the kind of hysterical climax Korean genre movies do so well. *—K.R.*

Where to watch *Thirst*: Amazon Prime Video (to rent)**

6. The Wailing (2016)

Chun Woo-hee as Moo-myung in 'The Wailing'

Chun Woo-hee as Moo-myung in 'The Wailing'.

Some movies just have a malevolent aura about them, and* The Wailing* is one of them. While watching the residents of a small Korean village succumb one by one to the belief that they've been possessed by demons, you start to wonder if curses can be transmitted through screens as well. The film is long but worth the runtime, as we get to know the community members before witnessing the horror of what happens to them. It all builds to an exorcism scene that's impressively staged and terrifyingly intense. *—K.R.*

Where to watch *The Wailing*: Hulu**

5. The Host (2006)

Song Kang-ho as Park Gang-du in 'The Host'

Song Kang-ho as Park Gang-du in 'The Host'.

Another quintessentially Korean genre-bender, Bong Joon Ho's international breakout was a festival sensation when it premiered at Cannes in 2006. First and foremost, it's a monster movie about a mutated creature that crawls out of the Han River, causing mayhem and spreading a deadly virus. But it's also a political satire *and* a family drama, driven by Song Kang-ho's performance as a poor vendor who must descend into the sewers to battle the beast and save his daughter, Hyun-seo (Go Ah-sung). *—K.R.*

Where to watch *The Host*: Amazon Prime Video**

4. I Saw the Devil (2010)

Lee Byung-hun as Kim Soo-hyeon and Kim In-seo as Se-jung in 'I Saw the Devil'

Lee Byung-hun as Kim Soo-hyeon and Kim In-seo as Se-jung in 'I Saw the Devil'. Everett Collection

Even compared to the rest of the films on this list, Kim Jee-woon's crime/horror hybrid is an intense viewing experience that blurs the lines between good and evil in ultra-violent, darkly funny style. The stakes just keep getting higher in this Grand Guignol of bloodthirsty excess, as bereaved government agent Soo-hyun (Lee Byung-hun) descends into shocking depravity in his pursuit of serial killer Kyung-chul (Choi Min-sik). The twist? Soo-hyun already caught him once; this second hunt is just for fun. *—K.R.*

*I Saw the Devil* is not available to stream.**

3. The Housemaid (1960)

Kim Jin-kyu as Dong-sik Kim and Eun-shim Lee as Myung-sook in 'The Housemaid'

Kim Jin-kyu as Dong-sik Kim and Eun-shim Lee as Myung-sook in 'The Housemaid'.

Kuk Dong Seki Trading Co.

Although not strictly a horror movie — its tone is more comparable to an erotic thriller like 1987's *Fatal Attraction* — this 1960 feature is a milestone of genre cinema and Korean movies as a whole. Directed by Kim Ki-young, the film is a cautionary tale about the dangers of infidelity, following a couple that hires a maid to help around the house while the wife is pregnant, only to have the young woman (Lee Eun-shim) destroy the family from the inside out. It's since been remade multiple times, but the original's gliding camerawork and social commentary make it a timeless classic. *—K.R.*

Where to watch *The Housemaid*: The Criterion Channel**

2. Train to Busan (2016)

Gong Yoo as Seok-woo in 'Train to Busan'

Gong Yoo as Seok-woo in 'Train to Busan'. Well Go USA

The biggest and most influential horror hit to come out of Korea in the past decade, this zombie thriller has inspired multiple spinoffs — including our No. 20 pick, the animated prequel* Seoul Station*. The secret to its success lies in its thrilling, claustrophobic action sequences: The story takes place almost entirely on a high-speed train from Seoul to Busan, where distant dad Seok-woo (Gong Yoo) is attempting to bond with his daughter Su-an (Kim Su-an). But they soon realize that all of Korea, not just their transit, has been taken over by hungry, impossibly fast zombies. *—K.R.*

Where to watch *Train to Busan*: Netflix**

1. A Tale of Two Sisters (2003)

Im Soo-jung as Bae Su-mi in 'A Tale of Two Sisters'

Im Soo-jung as Bae Su-mi in 'A Tale of Two Sisters'. Everett Collection

When it comes to the sophisticated style and shocking twists of Korean horror, no film is as perfect an example as *A Tale of Two Sisters*. Directed by Kim Jee-woon — who also made our No. 4 pick,* I Saw the Devil *— this psychologically harrowing film is about a pair of young girls who live in a handsome country home with their father. Also present are two malevolent presences: the ghost of their mother and their evil stepmother, Eun-joo (Yum Jung-ah). Kim's direction is bold and stylish, and the supernatural scenes are terrifying, embodying the finest that Korean horror has to offer. *—K.R.*

There's a scene in *Keeper*, the latest unnerving horror feature from Osgood Perkins (*Longlegs*, *The Monkey*), in which Tatiana Maslany's Liz regains consciousness at the bottom of a staircase in her vacation cabin's darkened basement.

A human-like…*something* (Creature? Entity?) crawls towards her on all fours out of the shadows. It wears a white mask with a gaping mouth, out of which drips some kind of congealed bodily ooze. Just in case no one could glean from her furrowed facial expression, the character exclaims towards camera: "What the f---?!"

That accurately sums up Maslany's general experience making *Keeper*, about a couple that rents a cabin in the woods for an anniversary getaway, only for the man to abruptly head back to the city, leaving the woman alone to face a sinister entity.

"I feel like 'what the f---' happened several times throughout the process because the movie definitely shifted and grew [in] post," the *Orphan Black* and *She-Hulk: Attorney at Law* star tells **. "The music and the way that the film turned out, I was surprised when I watched it. I definitely had a 'what the f---' at the end where I was like, 'Oh *that's* the movie we made.'"

Keeper Stills

Tatiana Maslany as Liz in 'Keeper'.

Though *The Monkey* debuted earlier this year, Maslany's relationship with Perkins began with *Keeper*, well before the critical and commercial success of *Longlegs* propelled the filmmaker to true horror auteur status. Perkins and his crew went to Vancouver to make that Nicolas Cage-fronted creep-fest, and everyone found they worked so well together, "we didn't care to stop," he says. "So we just kept the party going."

The plan was to go directly into making *The Monkey*, but the dueling Hollywood writers' and actors' strikes of 2023 forced them to change plans. "The strikes looked like they were really gonna go for a long, long, long, long time/forever," Perkins recalls. "My producer Chris Ferguson and I sat down one day and said, 'Let's figure out what we can do while everybody waits this out.'"

'She-Hulk' star Tatiana Maslany calls for Disney boycott after Jimmy Kimmel suspension

The origin of *Keeper* stems from this pure place of wanting to keep people working during a difficult time for the industry. Perkins couldn't write a new film himself, so they found Nick Lepard, a Canadian scribe unaffiliated with the Writers Guild of America. The script came together in a matter of weeks, dictated heavily by the production realities of the project.

With limited time and money, they logically settled on a single location (a cabin in the woods) with a small cast of Canadian actors, chiefly Maslany and Rossif Sutherland, the latter playing the other half of this haunted couple, Malcolm.

Keeper Stills

Rossif Sutherland as Malcolm in 'Keeper'.

"We started to reverse engineer what the actual movie was gonna be," Perkins says. "I'd always liked the idea of doing a relationship horror movie, so a horror movie where the relationship is the scary thing."

He and Maslany prefer not to comment too much on the specifics of that story. During an early screening of excerpts from the film at New York City's SoHo House earlier this month, the actress remarked how it's better to let the experience "just wash over you." It's a common Perkins ethos to keep the big reveals a treat for theaters. However, there are some clues.

"It's these hot-button topics like toxic masculinity or the patriarchy," Perkins says. "You try to give it a shape in the way that horror passes through these eras where the monster is merely the shape of some bigger issue."

"It's like the lies that we tell ourselves *about* ourselves and about our partners in order to stay there," Maslany adds. "I don't know how to word this without giving anything away, but the trap of the roles that we fall into and heterosexual expectations, I would say." She laughs at that last statement. "Yeah, the horror of heterosexuality."

Keeper Stills

Liz (Tatiana Maslany) finds an intriguing locket in 'Keeper'.

***Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our EW Dispatch newsletter.***

Another clue comes from EW's exclusive photos from *Keeper*, which reveal Liz opening a locket containing a photo of a woman who looks just like her. Once again, the pair isn't giving up the goods, but the supernatural element is prominent, even down to the project's cinematic references.

Stanley Kubrick's *The Shining* (1980) became a common reference as the late Shelley Duvall is one of Perkins' favorite actors. There's a specific shot in Keeper where the camera looks up from underneath Maslany, who holds her forehead against a mirror in a shot highly reminiscent of a similarly angled scene of Duvall in that Stephen King-inspired classic.

"I think he went, 'This is the *Shining* moment,'" Maslany remembers of filming that with Perkins. Gena Rowlands in *Woman Under the Influence* (1974) was another big one. "It just gives you a clue as to how this director might allow for more space in the emotionality of it or the largeness of it or the strangeness of this performance," she adds.

It's safe to say Maslany is a fan of Perkins. Not only did she then sign on to play Theo James' onscreen mother in *The Monkey*, she's also working on a third project with the filmmaker. It's hard for her to describe his "thing," which excites her.

"*Longlegs*, *The Monkey*, and *Keeper*, they're completely different beasts, all three," Maslany says, "but it was something about just him. I had a feeling this is gonna be a collaboration that challenges me and is exciting and fruitful. And he was cool, too! He is a cool dude, but also I could feel there was a nerdy weirdo in there that wants to make weird, f---ed-up movies."

*Keeper* opens in theaters Nov. 14.

Heidi Klum donned green scales and squirming snakes to transform herself into Medusa for Halloween on Friday. Klum said she loves the Greek myth of Medusa, in which a goddess turns a beautiful woman into a monster with serpents for hair. "So I wanted to be really, really like a really ugly, ugly Medusa. And I feel like we nailed it - to the teeth," Klum said before pointing to fangs in her mouth. Her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, dressed as a man turned to stone. According to Greek mythology, her gaze could turn people to stone.

The supermodel-turned-TV personality went viral in 2022 when she arrived at her annual Halloween party on the end of a fishing line, encased in a slithering worm costume.

This year, she said she spent 10 hours getting into costume and that it was worth it because she loves the celebration.

"HAPPY HEIDIWEEN," she posted on Instagram on Halloween night, showing her costume. "Don't stare too long or you'll turn to stone."

In past years, Klum has come dressed as an 8-foot-tall "Transformer," a werewolf from Michael Jackson's "Thriller" music video, a clone accompanied by several Klum-lookalikes, and Kali, the multiarmed Hindu goddess of death and destruction.

Klum has said she starts planning her costume for the next year immediately after her party wraps. Among the other celebrities who walked the carpet at the Hard Rock Hotel New York were a green-painted Darren Criss as Shrek, Maye Musk as Cruella de Vil and Ariana Madix as Lady Gaga.

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter spoke to Naomi Fry during a panel event at The New Yorker Festival on Oct. 26

The real-life friends revealed how the "Broadway world" has reacted to their production, Waiting for Godot

"It does have significance. It's Broadway," Winter said

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are feeling the love!During a panel event at The New Yorker Festival at SVA Theatre in New York on Sunday, Oct. 26, Reeves, 61, and Winter, 60, revealed how the theater community has reacted to the Matrix star taking a leap from movies into Broadway.

The pair, who are friends in real life, are starring in Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot at the Hudson Theatre from Oct. 31 to Jan. 4. According to a synopsis, the production is about "two friends searching for meaning in an absurd world."

Panel host Naomi Fry asked Winter if he gave Reeves any advice for his Broadway debut, having been in productions since his early teens.

"I kept saying, which he just kept laughing at me about, which deserved laughter, was it's just a stage," Winter recalled of Reeves. "It's just another stage. I mean, Keanu had done Hamlet, back in the day [and] we were doing Bogus Journey. He was doing all this, you know, Shakespeare workshops, like he knows theater very well."

Winter said he reassured Reeves not to overthink performing on Broadway, and thankfully, others in the industry have been just as easy-going.

"Don't let it zap your head. Like it's an audience and it's a stage," Winter said. "It does have significance. It's Broadway.

"They've been very warm to us. We came and did that Tony thing in June and everyone has been really lovely," he continued, referring to them presenting an award at the Tony Awards.

Winter, who previously starred with Reeves in the Bill & Ted film franchise, said "there's a specific Broadway world" with its own culture, but everyone has been "quite inviting" about Reeves' debut in Waiting for Godot.

"But, that's not to say that we didn't, you know, both quietly," he added, trailing off, as Reeves chimed in, "What the f---"

"Exactly. Thank you. I didn't want to do that, but I'm glad someone did," Winter said.

Despite the pleasant welcome, Winter confessed they were both "panicking."

"I looked up at him and I was like, 'Oh, he's similarly paralyzed,'" Winter said of Reeves. "That's good.

"And then the thing that went up and we did the show and it was honestly one of my favorite shows we've done," he concluded.

Rashid Shaheed is no stranger to life in the fast lane. Now the New Orleans Saints receiver could find himself on the fast track out of the Big Easy.

Trade rumors continue to swirl around Shaheed as the NFL trade deadline nears. It's a product of playing for a team at the bottom of the standings, while also being ticketed for free agency at season's end.

Shaheed appears to be the most likely Saints' receiver to swap jerseys ahead of the deadline, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Contenders are looking to separate themselves from the rest, climbing the standings and walking down a road they hope leads to the Super Bowl. Shaheed might not be the biggest name, but he could be the one who has the biggest impact if he lands in the right spot.

Here's a look at some of the best landing spots for Shaheed.

Rashid Shaheed landing spotsBuffalo Bills

The Bills will remain connected to every receiver until they finally acquire one. It's no secret that the team has a clear need at the position and Shaheed is a good candidate to fix that. The speedster is set to be a free agent after the season and it appears that New Orleans is prioritizing Chris Olave in extension talks.

Josh Allen can probably throw the ball to the moon, which only helps Shaheed's case if he can be pried away from the Saints. Considering the receiver's productivity with non-MVP quarterbacks, the Bills should be excited about a potential trade for a player that greatly improves their offense at a position of need.

New England Patriots

How about a division rivalry in the trade market? The Patriots are not only in a race for the AFC East crown, but now they might just battle the Bills for someone like Shaheed. New England's timeline to compete was moved up and has been kicked into overdrive at nearly the halfway point of the season.

The Patriots' receiving room has overachieved through eight weeks, but Drake Maye could use some additional reinforcements if they want to stack up against the league's best.

Denver Broncos

Shaheed's best season was in 2023 when Pete Carmichael Jr. led the way as the Saints offensive coordinator. He was named an All-Pro as a punt returner that season, but also flashed plenty of talent at receiver. Shaheed hoped to build off that in 2024 before suffering a season-ending injury.

Perhaps reuniting with Carmichael and former Saints coach Sean Payton could be exactly what the doctor ordered. The Broncos could use some help on offense and a receiver outside of Courtland Sutton to be a consistent producer.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are overly reliant on DK Metcalf for production in their receiver room. To make up for that deficiency, Pittsburgh has turned to its deep tight end room and running back rotation. Aaron Rodgers continues to get the ball out quickly and hasn't been stretching the field much during his first season in the Steel City.

Shaheed would at least bring that speed threat to keep defenses honest.

Seattle Seahawks

Sometimes it's nice to splurge on a bit of luxury. Seattle isn't viewed as a team that needs a receiver, yet they might find Shaheed worth acquiring.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba continues to dominate the targets in Seattle, relegating the remaining receivers to supporting roles. If Seattle fancies itself as a contender, it can't hurt to keep improving areas of the team that aren't clear needs. Klint Kubiak was the Saints' offensive coordinator in 2024 and now runs the show in Seattle. That connection makes it an interesting fit.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Veteran backup Jacoby Brissett will start his third straight game at quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys while Kyler Murray continues to recover from a lingering foot injury.

Coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters on Saturday that Brissett would start. Murray could still be active and have a role if his foot improves over the next 48 hours.

Murray has been listed as limited on this week's practice reports. The two-time Pro Bowl selection hasn't played since Oct. 5 against the Tennessee Titans.

Brissett has played well in Murray's place, throwing for 599 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in two starts.

The Cardinals (2-5) will try to snap a five-game losing streak when they face the Cowboys on Monday.

In the middle of a chaotic coaching carousel, another college football program has locked up its successful and highly coveted coach.

SMU has signed coach Rhett Lashlee to a two-year contract extension, the university announced on Saturday, Nov. 1, hours ahead of the Mustangs' game against No. 9 Miami.

The 42-year-old Lashlee is in his fourth season at SMU, where has racked up a 34-15 record and helped the program successfully transition to the ACC. Last season, he guided the Mustangs to an 11-3 mark and a spot in the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff.

"Rhett has shown an unwavering commitment to elevating SMU Football to new heights, and under his leadership, we are building a program that will compete for championships year in and year out," SMU athletic director Damon Evans said in a statement. "I look forward to him and his family being on The Hilltop for years to come."

— SMU Football (@SMUFB) November 1, 2025

While terms of the contract were not disclosed by the school, multiple outlets reported Lashlee's new deal will make him one of the 10 highest-paid coaches in the sport.

Lashlee had been mentioned as a candidate for several of the 10 FBS vacancies that have come up since the start of the 2025 season, most notably at Arkansas, his home state and the school where he played quarterback in the early 2000s.

He's the latest coach who has turned external interest into a new deal at his current employer. Last month, Indiana's Curt Cignetti signed a new eight-year, $93 million contract at the school and on Thursday, Nebraska inked Matt Rhule to a two-year extension through 2032 that increased his buyout after this season from $5 million to $15 million. Both coaches had been connected to vacancy at Penn State.

A former offensive coordinator at Miami, SMU, UConn, Auburn and Arkansas State, Lashlee's teams have been among the most explosive in the sport during his SMU tenure. The Mustangs have finished among the top 15 teams nationally in scoring offense in each of the past three seasons.

"SMU is a special place to our family," Lashlee said in a statement. "We are so excited for the opportunity to continue the process of building our program on the national stage."
