Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sánchez are having a luxury wedding. The internet is enraged.

Charles Trepany, USA TODAY June 25, 2025 at 7:22 PM

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are gearing up for what will likely prove one of the most luxurious weddings of all time − and the internet already hates everything about it.

The couple, who went public with their relationship in 2019 and got engaged in 2023, will tie the knot in Venice, Italy, the city previously confirmed. Reuters and The New York Times report the three-day wedding will likely occur between June 26 and 28.

As the reported wedding day draws closer, the backlash online has only grown.

"This is what oligarchy looks like," one X user wrote. "I wonder how many kids could have been fed for the price of Jeff Bezos wedding?" wrote another. The nuptials have drawn in-person protests, too: Activists from Greenpeace Italy and the UK group "Everyone hates Elon (Musk)" unfolded a giant banner in central St Mark's Square on June 23 with a picture of Bezos laughing and a sign that reads: "If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more tax."

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez attend the Vanity Fair Oscar Party on March 2, 2025.

The strong reactions to luxury weddings, like Bezos and Sánchez's, point to deeper frustrations people have with their own economic situations, mental health experts explain.

What health & wellness means for you: Sign up for USA TODAY's Keeping It Together newsletter

"A lot of people are feeling like they're stuck and they are living week-to-week, and people are feeling like they're not sure how they can make a difference," psychotherapist Stephanie Sarkis previously told USA TODAY. "Those feelings can be directed toward a person, especially when people don't feel like they have a voice or their voice has been blocked."

Why Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sánchez's wedding struck a nerve

Though they've been tight-lipped about their nuptials, the billionaire Amazon founder, 61, and former television journalist, 55, are expected to spare no expense for their wedding. Regional governor Luca Zaia estimates the festivities to cost $23-$34 million.

After the ceremony − for which the exact location is currently unknown − the newlyweds and their guests will head to a hall of the Arsenale, a renovated maritime area on the outer edge of Venice. The vast 14th-century complex in the eastern Castello district, known for hosting the Venice Biennale art fair, is surrounded by water and impossible to reach by land when connecting bridges are raised.

"The organization (Bezos and guests) have categorically not booked large amounts of gondolas or excessive numbers of water taxis," the city of Venice said in a March statement. "It is their utmost priority to make sure the city functions as normal, for all, with no abnormal disruption to anyone."

Everything we know so far: Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's wedding

Still, that hasn't deterred the couple's detractors, some of whom have taken to X to share how their lives are going by comparison. As one user put it: "Some 100 private jets will fly to Venice for Jeff Bezos' wedding, and I recycle yogurt cup lids." Locals have also threatened peaceful blockades against the event the day of, saying Venice needs public services and housing, not VIPs and tourism.

Erik Anderson, a licensed marriage and family therapist said there's multiple reasons why people have such a negative view of luxury weddings, the primary being that they serve as blunt reminders of how different life is for the mega-wealthy.

Many young people today, he added, are grappling with economic uncertainty and the feeling they were born in a situation in which the odds were stacked against them.

"One thing that's a major driver of people's resentment is the feeling that people are not going to be better off than their parents," Anderson previously told USA TODAY. "We kind of get into the psychology of comparison and how people measure themselves against other people in their community, including saying, 'Am I going to be better off than my parents or worse off than my parents?' "

Luxury weddings strike a particular nerve, Anderson added, when they involve the rich renting out exclusive access to things. You also saw this last year with the lavish wedding of Bilt Rewards CEO Ankur Jain and former WWE wrestler Erika Hammond, who got married in a four-day spectacle in Egypt that included a private tour of the pyramids and a special event at the Grand Egyptian Museum, which isn't yet fully open to the public.

"I think it really created a symbolic representation of, 'We are taking and then no one else can have it, and it also makes us feel special for no one else to be able to have it,' " Anderson said of Jain and Hammond's wedding extravaganza at the pyramids.

When this anger combines with the anonymity afforded by the internet, backlash is almost inevitable, Sarkis previously told USA TODAY.

What our anger says about us

Most people in America face financial burdens which contribute to mental health problems, Anderson previously told USA TODAY.

"Poverty itself can be a stressor," he said. "We essentially see that wellbeing correlates with income. So, basically, the larger the middle class, the more people there are who have a high level of wellbeing, and the smaller the middle class, the lower the wellbeing in the average population."

More: Lance Bass, Robin Thicke, more went to this massive billionaire wedding. The internet was enraged.

Sarkis said it's important to take stock of your feelings when you get angry over a luxury wedding and see what's really behind them. You might find you're mad at something much bigger than Bezos, Sánchez or any particular individual.

"We can have a variety of feelings that come through that we don't necessarily take accountability for," she said. "And we really need to look at what is it that we're angry about, and is there anything we can do to change it?"

 • Justin and Hailey Bieber "Don't Talk About Divorce," Chances of Them Splitting Are "Very Slim"

Mehera BonnerJune 25, 2025 at 8:31 PM

Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber are going through a "tough" time in their marriage, but sources say there's zero chance of a split. Which, phew!

"Justin's going through a difficult time, and Hailey is giving him room to get himself back on track. He's doing his best, but it's tough," an insider tells Us Weekly, noting that "Things have been very tense in the last month. Hailey's worried about Justin, especially with a [baby at home]. He hasn't been down like this in quite some time, so there's concern."

The source adds that the chances of them splitting "are very slim, especially because of their faith" and that ultimately "they believe they are soulmates and meant for each other. They'll do anything to make it work. He's a loose cannon, and Hailey's making room for that. They are going to get through it."

Axelle/Bauer-Griffin - Getty Images

Meanwhile, another insider tells the outlet that "things aren't great right now," and that "family issues have clouded [Hailey's] success." However, they also confirm that the couple "don't talk about divorce."

This all comes amid another anon person telling Entertainment Tonight that the pair are "struggling" and that "Justin has been getting irritated easily and feels like Hailey can be superficial about the way their relationship looks in the public eye." Meanwhile, they claim "Justin's lack of motivation has been upsetting" for Hailey, while friends "think they can salvage their marriage — and they both want that — but right now things are not good."

Here's to hoping they work things out!

Oasis tour 2025: Everything you need to know

Main Image

-

 • Oasis tour 2025: Everything you

Poppie PlattJune 25, 2025 at 11:00 PM

Liam (left) and Noel Gallagher are set to return to the stage together in July

The wait is finally over. After 16 years, Oasis will reunite on Friday July 4 for the first of two spectacular stadium shows in Cardiff, before embarking on a wider tour that takes in Manchester's Heaton Park, Wembley Stadium in London and Murrayfield in Edinburgh – as well as dates in cities from New York to Sydney and Buenos Aires later in the year.

Fans never thought it would happen; unprecedented demand crashed Ticketmaster, sparked a row over dynamic pricing and saw around 1.4 million lucky Britons – of 14 million who tried – secure a ticket.

But how will the shows go? Liam and Noel Gallagher are as famous for their bust-ups and lairy behaviour as they are their songs – but concerns about whether arguments will interfere with the tour should be quelled by realism: there's a lot of money on the line for Manchester's gobbiest brothers, and they're probably not going to risk messing their big payday up.

So, if you're one of the fortunate people to have tickets, here's everything you ahead of the decade's most anticipated tour: from all of the dates to the band's line-up, rumoured setlist and confirmed support acts, we have you covered.

What's on the setlist?

Who's actually in the band?

Ticket information

Who is supporting?

Where to buy merch

Our tips – from those who've been

Oasis tour: UK dates and locations

Cardiff, Principality Stadium – July 4 and 5

Manchester, Heaton Park – July 11, 12, 16, 19 and 20

London, Wembley Stadium – July 25, 26 and 30; August 2 and 3; September 27 and 28

Edinburgh, Murrayfield Stadium – August 8, 9 and 12

What's on the setlist?

Unsurprisingly, the tour's setlist is being kept closely under wraps, but that doesn't mean there aren't rumours. Liam Gallagher responded to a "leaked" list circulating on X with "It's not far off", which is perhaps unsurprising given Oasis didn't make that much music: seven albums, but, let's be honest, only four of those – Definitely Maybe, (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, Be Here Now and, at a push, Heathen Chemistry – actually contain songs fans want to hear.

The setlist is rumoured to be made up of 21 songs, and is likely to include the following tracks:AcquiesceSome Might SayLylaShakermakerThe Hindu TimesShe's ElectricStand By MeStop Crying Your Heart OutThe Importance Of Being IdleHalf The World AwayWhateverSlide AwaySupersonicMorning GloryRock'n'Roll StarCigarettes & AlcoholDon't Look Back In AngerLive ForeverChampagne Supernova

Who's actually in the band?

NME reports that the band's line-up will consist of Liam and Noel Gallagher, Andy Bell on bass, Gem Archer and Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs on guitar and Joey Waronker on drums.

Ticket information

Tickets for the UK tour sold out in minutes, but for fans who didn't get them the first time round, a beacon of hope: the band posted on social media on 25 June that "a very limited number" of tickets, originally held for production staff, would be released in the coming days. Information is set to be provided by emails from Ticketmaster and fan site Oasismynet.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Oasis (@oasis)

It is also worth keeping an eye on sites such as Ticketmaster, See Tickets and Twickets for returns and resale tickets. Be careful of scams: unregulated websites purporting to have tickets will probably rip you off, and if you see an amazing bargain on social media, remember – if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Who is supporting?

The band has been criticised for choosing well-established acts over less well-known up-and-comers, with some fans suggesting Oasis's tour could have provided a much-needed leg-up for fresh new talent.

But the artists Oasis have selected should get the crowd fired up regardless: former The Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft will perform solo, as well as indie rock band Cast. Support on the US leg of the tour will come from Cage The Elephant.

The dates at Manchester's Heaton Park are expected to start earlier than the ones in stadiums, leading to rumours the event could fling open its doors from earlier in the day and offer other, additional support acts. However, this has not yet been confirmed.

Where to buy merch

Yet to sort out your bucket hat, Adidas sweatshirt or band tee? Don't fear – to capitalise on demand, there will be numerous official pop-up shops across the country selling Oasis merchandise ahead of the tour.

The first pop-up store to open to the public can be found in Manchester (on The Avenue, Spinningfields). Shops in London (Carnaby Street), Cardiff, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Dublin are expected to open later, while there will also be official merchandise sold inside the gigs.

Fans visiting the pop-up stores will be able to buy exclusive clothing, home accessories (covering everything from mugs, pint glasses and baby grows to Zippo lighters) and vinyl records. To gain entry, fans can either book an (advised) timed entry slot or queue.

The Gallagher brothers have also recently announced an exclusive partnership with clothing brand Adidas, consisting of jackets, shirts, T-shirts, sweatshirts, tracksuit bottoms and trainers. These can be purchased (by pre-order) on the official Adidas website as well as online retailer ASOS. Be quick, though: many items have already sold out.

Our tips – from those who've been

The shows are guaranteed to be rowdy, but just try to embrace it. Nobody knows exactly what the setlist or performance will entail, but you can count on a fair few pints of beer (and other fluids) being chucked over the crowd, so don't wear your fanciest clothes – comfortable walking shoes, a raincoat and a protective bucket hat are gig/festival staples for a reason. Plus, pack those earplugs: even if the music and speakers aren't too deafening, the screams from the excited crowd are bound to be.

Start times for the individual dates are yet to be confirmed, but get there early if you're standing and want to source a good spot and not-so-early if you're seated. Gigs at Wembley Stadium and other similar venues generally finish by 11pm, to conform to noise pollution rules, so expect a kick off of around 8.30pm from Oasis; support acts will start much earlier. The Manchester date, which is taking place outside in Heaton Park, looks set to be more of a day festival-style set-up.

 • Prince William's royal plan leaves no room for Prince Harry's 'American children': expert

Stephanie NolascoJune 25, 2025 at 4:00 PM

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's two young children won't have royal roles once Prince William becomes king.

The claim is being made by several royal experts who noted that the Prince of Wales has been preparing for his future role as monarch while supporting his father, King Charles, who has cancer.

"It's utterly absurd for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to believe their children might one day choose to become working royals," Kinsey Schofield, host of the To Di for Daily podcast, told Fox News Digital.

Prince Harry Remains Stuck In The Past While Meghan Markle Builds Hollywood Empire: Experts

Prince William reportedly doesn't have a relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following the couple's royal exit in 2020.

"That kind of entitlement isn't just wishful thinking — it borders on delusion," she claimed. "These are American children who've been raised oceans away from the monarchy, with no exposure to the customs, culture, or continuity that define royal life."

"Harry closed that door himself the moment he boarded Tyler Perry's private jet and handed over his life story to a ghostwriter for 'Spare,'" Schofield added.

Schofield's statements came shortly after it was suggested in recent reports that Harry, 40, wanted to keep HRH titles for his children – or His and Her Royal Highness – so that they can decide for themselves whether they want to be working royals when they grow up.

Prince Harry told the BBC in May that he's ready to reconcile with his family.

However, The Times U.K. reported that "under the next reign, roles for Archie and Lili as working royals are unlikely."

Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are raising their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, in California. Fox News Digital reached out to Kensington Palace and Archewell, which handles the offices for the duke and duchess, for comment.

"Prince William will not be thinking of giving the Sussex children formal future royal roles - ludicrous!" British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox News Digital.

Britain's Prince William, Prince of Wales, speaks on stage during the "Leading with Impact" event, as part of London Climate Action Week, at Bloomberg headquarters in London, on Jun. 24, 2025.

"The children are being raised in America and, as I understand, do not have any understanding of the British royal family," she explained.

"They will not have received the guidance to fit into royal life and royal expectations should not even be a thought… And why would Harry and Meghan want this for their children anyway? They stepped down as working royals, painted the British royal family in the most aberrant light, and ran as far away from them as possible!"

Prince William, Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales attend the 80th Anniversary of VE Day, held at the historic Horse Guards Parade on May 8, 2025, in London, England.

Royal experts previously told Fox News Digital that Harry and William are not on speaking terms. Their relationship deteriorated following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's decision to step back as senior royals in 2020 and move to California.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior royals in 2020 and moved to California, citing the unbearable intrusions of the British press and a lack of support from the palace.

Since their royal exit, the couple has aired their grievances in interviews and documentaries. Harry's explosive 2023 memoir "Spare," featuring embarrassing details about the House of Windsor, only made things worse.

In May, Harry told the BBC that he wanted to reconcile with his family but his father, 76, wouldn't speak to him. According to The Times, Harry's pleas "did little to thaw the family freeze."

Sources told the outlet that William's attitude towards his brother had shifted significantly – to "indifference."

Prince Harry and Prince William's relationship worsened following the publication of "Spare" in 2023.

"Where he once raged at his brother's outbursts — after the publication of 'Spare,' a friend told me that though he was determined not to publicly respond even though 'inside he's burning' — the anger has subsided to indifference," wrote royal editor Roya Nikkhah.

"A friend tells me: 'What has struck me the most recently is that he just doesn't mention it at all. It used to be that the family stuff was taking up a lot of space in his head, it was a very close relationship and he was very upset. But he's not letting it get to him at all anymore. It is a change. It's sad, but it's a much healthier space for him to be at,'" she shared.

Next to William is Jason Knauf, who is known as one of the royal's most trusted confidantes.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams pointed out to Fox News Digital that the deep rift between the royals hasn't been caused by Archie and Lili – it stems from the battling brothers.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are raising their two young children in California.

"It may or may not resolve itself," Fitzwilliams warned. "It would be simple for the HRH to be removed by the sovereign. However, they were entitled to it automatically as children of the sons of the monarch, because of the 1917 letters patent of George V, contrary to what the Sussexes claimed in their infamous Oprah interview. It is unclear what William will do when he becomes king, but he will be well aware of the probable effect and vast, often adverse publicity if he did this."

British royals expert Hilary Fordwich claimed to Fox News Digital that Harry and William's relationship – or lack of it – reached a point of no return following the publication of "Spare."

Like What You're Reading? Click Here For More Entertainment News

Prince William has been supporting his wife Kate Middleton, who was diagnosed with cancer last year. She is now cancer-free.

"Prince Harry has consistently exacerbated the rift he created after he departed from royal life with his tell-all whingefest 'Spare,'" which was unbefitting as a member of the family," Fordwich explained.

Prince Harry detailed his sibling rivalry with Prince William, heir to the British throne, in "Spare."

"Growing up together, both Prince William and Prince Harry knew how treasured trust is - they trusted each other. But Prince Harry has deliberately destroyed that trust, which can never be regained."

"Therefore, it would be beyond hypocritical for the Sussexes, who have rejected royal duties, to expect their children who have zero knowledge of royal responsibilities to ever even be able to assume any roles," Fordwich continued. "They declared royal life 'unbearable' and their undignified conduct has confirmed how ill-fitted either of them would be back in any royal roles."

Meghan Markle, an American actress born in California, became the Duchess of Sussex when she married Prince Harry in 2018.

While Harry continues to look back, William is said to be moving forward. The heir to the British throne, 43, is said to have "international ambitions" where he can connect with world leaders, as well as "supercharge" his philanthropy alongside his wife Kate Middleton.

Britain's Princess Charlotte and her mother Catherine, the Princess of Wales, leave Buckingham Palace ahead of Trooping the Colour, the king's annual birthday parade, in London, on June 14, 2025

"Prince William is taking a healthy approach by not even addressing nor wasting time considering his wayward brother," Fordwich claimed. "He is dedicated to his lovely, loyal family and royal duties. He doesn't see any point in even discussing his brother as he isn't in control of his despicable actions. He sees his time better focused on where he can make a difference for his family, his people and his role in his nation's history."

And William continues to prioritize his family.

From left: Prince William, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attend an Anzac Day service at Westminster Abbey on April 25, 2018, in London, England. A few years later, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex publicly spoke about their struggles with royal life.

"He's always been fiercely protective of them and will be fiercely protective of them in the future," a friend told the outlet. And regardless of "criticism from some quarters," William and Kate are sticking to their guns. The Princess of Wales, 43, has slowly returned to public duties after announcing she was cancer-free this year.

Prince William, Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales attend the Order of the Garter service at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle on June 16, 2025, in Windsor, England.

"I don't think he's ever doubted [public support], but they don't take it for granted and always want to make sure they express gratitude whenever they have the opportunity," the pal claimed.

Schofield said that William's reported decision not to include Archie and Lilibet isn't just about putting his foot down as he thinks about the monarchy's future.

King Charles III and Carole Middleton, Kate Middleton's mother, in the grandstand on Day Two of Royal Ascot at Ascot Racecourse on Jun. 18, 2025.

"Any attempt to bring Harry and Meghan's children into the royal fold would raise eyebrows across the palace — not just among senior royals, but among seasoned courtiers," Schofield explained. "People who understand that royal service isn't a vibe — it's a vocation, built on discipline, education, and loyalty."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reside in the wealthy, coastal city of Montecito.

"The idea that proximity to the children could somehow smooth the way for Harry and Meghan to re-enter the royal scene? Preposterous," she claimed. "Royal protocol isn't a revolving door."

While Prince Harry looks back, his older brother Prince William is thinking about the monarchy's future.

"To imagine that children with no connection to the institution — culturally, geographically, or personally — could just pop in for a royal procession is pure fantasy," Schofield claimed. "It's a glimpse into how wildly out of touch Harry and Meghan have become. They don't respect the institution, its legacy, or the responsibility it requires — but they still want access. It's not just ludicrous. It's laughable."

"The Sussex children will always be family. However, the likelihood that they will ever carve out a formal British Royal role is unthinkable," she said. "Prince William has moved on from the Sussex family tribulations to protect his family's sanity. Sadly, at this point, the Sussexes are irrelevant to Prince William."

Kennedy, Jr. has recently made controversial choices dealing with vaccines.

"I think vaccines save lives. I think that we need to continue to support the promotion of utilization of vaccines," Monarez said.

Her comments came as she was asked by Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders about a recent decision reported by POLITICO that Kennedy has decided to end U.S. funding for a global vaccine alliance, Gavi.

"I wasn't involved in that decision making. If I'm confirmed as a CDC director, I will certainly look into it, and I'm happy to follow up with you," Monarez said.

Ohio plans swift appeal as court declares private school voucher system unconstitutional

Main Image

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio signaled on Wednesday that it will swiftly appeal a court ruling declaring the state's private school voucher system unconstitutional, a decision celebrated by public school advocates and condemned by a prominent Christian education organization.

Republican Attorney General Dave Yost said in a statement that he is confident the state will ultimately win. He assured Ohio families that the judge's order allows the program to remain operational as the lawsuit is argued, "so parents don't have to panic or worry about other options while the court process plays out."

Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Jaiza Page granted summary judgment Tuesday in a 2022 lawsuit joined by hundreds of public school districts, known collectively as Vouchers Hurt Ohio, as well as some parents, students and a fair school funding group.

The plaintiffs had argued that Ohio's 28-year-old school voucher plan, known as EdChoice, has over time created an unconstitutional system of separately funded private schools and led to resegregation of some districts because mostly nonminority students take advantage of the program.

Page, a Democrat, agreed that the program violates a provision of the Ohio Constitution requiring "a thorough and efficient system of common schools," but rejected claims that it violated the equal protection clause.

She used her 47-page decision to recount Ohio's history of funding schools, noting that evidence presented in the case spanned from before statehood to the 2023 state budget bill that established a universal voucher program providing tuition to nonpublic schools, including religious ones, to any family in the state.

Page notably rejected the widely used "school choice" legal argument, which says that voucher programs involve spending decisions made by individual parents, not by the state.

The judge found that argument failed in this case. She said families aren't the EdChoice program's final decision-makers: "The ultimate decision to accept prospective students, and by doing so receive EdChoice funds, lies with the private school."

The Ohio Christian Education Network, the rapidly expanding education arm of the Center for Christian Virtue, expressed strong disagreement with the ruling.

"This decision is poorly reasoned and ignores mountains of previous school choice jurisprudence at both (the) state and federal levels," Troy McIntosh, the network's executive director, said in a statement. "The fact is that this decision is not only an improper legal decision, but it could result in almost 100,000 Ohio students being tossed out of the school they have chosen to attend."

The Ohio Education Association, the state's largest teachers union, praised the ruling as a win for the nearly 90% of K-12 students who attend Ohio's public schools.

"Although this legal victory is likely the first step in a much longer process through the appeals courts, the ruling Tuesday represents a huge victory for Ohio's public school educators, school communities, and students who have seen critical resources diverted from our public schools for years to fund private school tuition payments for mostly-wealthy families whose children had never attended their local public schools in the first place," OEA President Scott DiMauro said in a statement.

Colorado pledges not to enforce gender identity rules for Christian children's camp after lawsuit

Main Image

FIRST ON FOX—Colorado has formally agreed to exclude religious children's camps from the state's transgender accomodation licensing requirements after a Christian camp filed a federal lawsuit.

In a new settlement agreement shared first with Fox News Digital, the Colorado Department of Early Childhood said it would not force Camp IdRaHaJe or other faith-based children's resident camps to adopt new gender identity rules in order to maintain a state license.

The Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) amended its state licensing rules in February to incorporate the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act (CADA). Under the new rules, children's resident camps in the state that are considered "places of public accommodation" must allow campers access to showers, sleeping and dressing facilities that align with the campers' gender identity. The department previously implemented gender identity rules regarding bathrooms in 2018.

Camp IdRaHaJe, which derives its name from the hymn, "I'd Rather Have Jesus," is a Christian children's summer camp for kids ages 6 to 17 that has operated in the state since 1948.
