The Chicago Med cast knows how to bring the drama, but off-screen, many of the show's stars have happily settled down and are raising young kids of their own.

The medical drama series, which belongs to NBC's One Chicago universe, premiered in 2015 and is currently in season 11. Since its inception, the show has explored several jaw-dropping storylines regarding the staff at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center.

At the end of season 8, series regulars Torrey DeVitto (Dr. Natalie Manning), Yaya DaCosta (nurse April Sexton) and Brian Tee (Dr. Ethan Choi) exited the show.

Nick Gehlfuss, who portrays Dr. Will Halstead, is back in the fold after a brief hiatus — during which he welcomed his second child. However, he isn't the only busy working parent on set. Luke Mitchell became a first-time dad earlier this year as well.

Here's everything to know about the kids of the Chicago Med cast.

Gehlfuss goes by "Dr. Will Halstead" on set, but his most fulfilling role has been becoming a father of two in real life.

He and his wife, Lilian Matsuda, welcomed their first child together in 2021. They expanded their family once more in 2024, per her Instagram.

The private couple wed in a "big wedding in Ohio" on May 13, 2016, as he previously told PEOPLE.

Oliver Platt plays Dr. Daniel Charles, the head of the psychiatry department, and has been with Chicago Med since its inception in 2015.

He married publicist Mary Camilla Bonsal Campbell in 1992, according to The New York Times. The pair have two daughters and a son, all of whom they raised out of the spotlight.

"It sounds hokey, but I love to hang around with my kids and my wife," Platt told SouthJersey.com in 2000. "It`s easy to get sucked into all the show business crap. My family is my grounding. They give all this stuff perspective."

Steven Weber, who has portrayed Dr. Dean Archer since season 6, is a proud father of two sons.

He shares his kids, Jack and Alfie, with ex-wife Juliette Hohnen. The pair divorced in 2013 after nearly two decades of marriage, UPI reported at the time.

Weber refrains from posting about his children on social media for the majority; however, the family of four recently gathered in honor of Father's Day.

"[Parenthood] changes you on a cellular level, and it's been such a beautiful experience to share with Luke," Breeds told TV Week. "He's my best friend and such a natural, confident dad. We take care of each other and the baby."

Off-screen, the actress and pastor Gavin Barrett, who wed in 2009, welcomed twins Joshuah-Jireh Barrett and Ahnne-N'Urya Barrett in 2021.

The following year, it was announced that Barrett was taking a "temporary" break from the series, following her uterine and ovarian cancer diagnosis.

Speaking with PEOPLE in 2024, Barrett shared that she was in "complete remission" after undergoing 30 rounds of chemotherapy and surgery.
