Looking to dress as Mary J. Blige for Halloween? You have the superstar's permission.
The Grammy winner is currently gearing up to release her new For My Fans concert film in theaters next month, but before then she's looking forward to seeing fans recreate some of her iconic looks to celebrate Halloween.
"I love it so much because it says, you know, I'm a household name," the "Be Without You" artist tells PEOPLE.
"When we were kids, we wanted to be Wonder Woman, you know what I mean?" continues Blige, who recalls dressing up as members of KISS as a kid. "Me and my sister used to fight over who's gonna be the guy with the tongue hanging out his mouth."
"Now, people are fighting over who's gonna be Mary J. Blige for Halloween," she says. "I love that."
Whether you're recreating one of Blige's iconic red carpet looks, sporting one of the innovative "Family Affair" video hairstyles, rocking a cowboy hat like she did at the 2003 VMAs afterparty or simply wearing blonde hair and some thigh-high boots, go for it.

Once spooky season comes to an end, fans of Blige can get head to a movie theater near them on Nov. 5 and Nov. 8 to catch her For My Fans concert movie, filmed during her tour of the same name at her native New York City's Madison Square Garden in April.
"I named it the For My Fans Tour because in all the Mary J. Blige concerts, it's really about the fans," she says. "If it wasn't for them, there would be none of this."
"It's all about their reaction to the music that, you know, I've been putting out for years and just how much they love and support me — and as you can see, they don't miss a beat," continues Blige. "Like, sometimes I don't even have to sing that much."
Tickets for the theatrical release of Mary J. Blige: For My Fans are available now at the film's website.
