Kailyn Lowry is giving a sneak peek at her twins' recent birthday celebration as she reflects on the role of motherhood in her life.
On Wednesday, Oct. 29, the mom of seven, 33, shared a video on Instagram, showing a few moments from her twins Verse and Valley's circus-themed birthday party. The newly minted 2-year-olds can be seen playing with a toy tiger in a cage and grabbing at the cupcakes. The video was set to a voiceover of Lowry, where she described how motherhood is "the biggest blessing of my life," adding how grateful she is to be their mother.
"Being a mother is the biggest blessing of my life. Not the loudest. Not the easiest, but the kind that wraps itself around your heart and never lets go. I blinked, and the newborn I rocked to sleep turned into a toddler with scraped knees and wild opinions," she said. "He used to reach for me with tiny hands and sleepy eyes, and now you are running ahead already needing me a little less, and I know that's the goal — to raise you up, not hold you back — but some days I miss the weight of you pressed against my chest."
"Your breath syncing with mine like the world stops spinning just for us. I miss the firsts. First giggle. First steps. First time you said, 'mama' like it was the only word that mattered," she continued. "And still every phase has brought its own kind of magic. New laughs. New lessons. New versions of you that I get the honor of meeting."
The doting mom went on to say that while motherhood "stretched" and "changed" her, it also made her "softer."
"Being your mother has stretched me. It changed me. It made me softer in places that used to be guarded," Lowry said. "And I know someday you'll be too big to carry, too cool for bedtime kisses, [and] too busy for Saturday morning pancakes, but I'll never stop showing up."
"Never stop cheering you on," she continued. "I'll never stop being your safe place because being your mom is the kind of blessing that only grows with time, and I'll spend the rest of my life grateful that I got to be yours."
Lowry has put her motherhood journey on display since 2010, when she appeared on MTV's 16 and Pregnant as a senior in high school. At the time, she was expecting her first child, son Isaac, 15, with her then-boyfriend Jo Rivera.
The following year, Lowry joined the cast of Teen Mom 2, which documented her turbulent love life and her growing family. In 2012, she married Javi Marroquin, and a year later, the two welcomed their son, Lincoln, 11. The couple split in 2016, and Lowry went on to have two more children, sons Lux, 8, and Creed, 5, with ex Chris Lopez.

In 2022, Lowry announced her decision to leave the Teen Mom franchise after 11 years. Around this time, she quietly welcomed her son, Rio. She confirmed the news of baby No. 5, her first child with Scott, to PEOPLE in 2023. The Teen Mom alum and her fiancé, Elijah Scott, welcomed fraternal twins Verse and Valley in late 2023 before getting engaged nearly a year later in August 2024.
While Lowry is now a mom of seven, she said she doesn't consider herself a parenting expert.
"Every child is so different and every experience is so different," the reality star told PEOPLE. "I definitely would not consider myself an expert, but I've been around the block a couple of times with kids."
