Jenna Bush Hager playfully called out her Today Show co-host Donna Farizan for not answering their phone when she called.
During the Thursday, August 28, episode of Today With Jenna & Friends, Bush Hager, 43, and Farizan discussed why some members of Gen Z don't like to speak on a phone call.
"It's interesting because it is a generational thing," Farizan said. "I sometimes don't like to talk on the phone."
Bush Hager then took the opportunity to make a jab at Farizan's expense. "That's why you didn't answer when I called you the other day, I mean, for real," she said.
Farizan then laughed as she admitted, "It's true." Bush Hager doubled down on the claim by adding, "Y'all laugh like it's a joke, but I called her, and she didn't answer."
Farizan went on to explain that she and Bush Hager "texted," though the mother of three insisted, "'Y'all, it ain't the same."
Bush Hager then turned her attention to the camera to send a message to the younger generation. "I just want to say if you're under a certain age and you write somebody an email and you think, 'Hey, why haven't they gotten me back.' Then you write them a text and they don't respond, guess what you can do? You can pick up a phone!" she said.

"You can call and say, 'Hey, just thinking about you, trying to call,'" Bush Hager continued. "It doesn't all have to be on email or text."
Farizan chimed in to say that there was "truth" to Bush Hager's argument. "I love talking on the phone with you," she said.
"Once you get on the phone with me, you like it, you dread it when you see me calling," Bush Hager told Farizan, who insisted that she doesn't "dread it."
Bush Hager confidently responded, "I know you do because you silenced me and then you texted, 'I'll call you in a few days.'"'
