Ben Stiller and Tramell Tillman made surprise appearances at Cinespia's screening of "Zoolander" on Aug. 16 at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Before the outdoor showing of the 2001 comedy classic, Stiller— who co-wrote, directed, and stars in the film—came out on stage to introduce the movie. Shortly thereafter, the USC marching band, led by Tillman, paraded out in a homage to the two stars' latest project: "Severance."

At 8:30, after guests had arrived at the cemetery to opening performances from DJ Daisy O'Dell and emcee Love Bailey, Cinespia Founder John Wyatt took the stage to welcome the crowd. Before the feature presentation, though, he surprised the audience by bringing out Stiller.

Stiller came out in character, thanking the audience and Cinespia as Derek Zoolander. "Thank you all for coming," he said in the character's signature stilted voice, "I'd like to thank the people at Cinespia for having the courage to have, the first ever, a nine year anniversary screening of 'Zoolander 2.'" After a pause of laughter for the self-deprecating joke, he corrected himself. "What? 'Zoolander 1?' Okay, cool," he continued, "Well, I hope you really enjoy it and don't get freaked out by all those creepy, gross, dead people underneath you."

His introduction was then interrupted by the sound of music coming from the opposite side of the stage, where Tillman emerged with the USC band. The stunt was a clear reference to the surreal marching band sequence from the season 2 finale of "Severance," which stars Tillman and is executive produced by Stiller.

Stiller introduced Tillman and the band before saying, "That's great, but this is kind of more like a 'Zoolander' thing than a 'Severance' thing. So maybe you could, I don't know, play like a Zoolandery type of song?" Without missing a beat, Tillman blew his whistle, and the band broke out into a brass rendition of "Relax" by Powerman 5000: a song featured in the film.

The band then charged off the stage to a round of applause as the lights went down and the movie began.
