Investors, spooked by President Donald Trump's criticism of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and his escalating trade war, initiated a selloff on Monday. But, on Tuesday, despite reports of the worst April for the Dow Jones since the Great Depression, stocks bounced back, with the index soaring 1,000 points and rallying further on Wednesday. By Thursday the Nasdaq, Dow and S&P 500 - that's the stock market index that tracks the performance of 500 of the largest publicly traded companies in the country – were all seeing gains for the third consecutive day.
