In 2009, Lydia Swinscoe, who works as a freelance travel writer, set herself the challenge of backpacking around the globe for 365 days with just £7,000 in her account. Motivated by the 'insatiable' lust for adventure, she resigned from her office job and set off on a journey of a lifetime, which saw her walk in diverse landscapes, taste curious fruits and swap plenty of stories with strangers along the way.
