A TEEN boy has today appeared in court charged with murdering a 12-year-old girl stabbed to death at a Christmas light switch on. Ava White suffered ...catastrophic injuries... after being assaulted in Liverpool city centre last week.
PAAva White was stabbed to death in Liverpool city centre '/ ' A 14-year-old boy, who legally can't be named, appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court today charged with murder. The teen is also facing a charge of possession of a bladed article. He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during the short hearing. The boy was remanded in secure accomodation to next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday. Three other boys, aged 13, 14 and 15, arrested on suspicion of murder have been conditionally bailed. Emergency crews rushed to the city centre on Thursday night as families gathered to watch the Christmas lights being switched on. She was rushed to hospital but sadly couldn't be saved and died shortly after. Tributes flooded in for Ava with devastated friends and family laying bouquets in the street following the horror. One friend said: ...She was just a bubbly character, so loving and caring. ...She came out with her friends to enjoy herself and I think it's just wrong that this has happened.... Ava's headteacher at Notre Dame Catholic College, Peter Duffy, said she youngster was ...much-loved, valued and unique.... ...She was an incredibly popular girl with a fantastic group of friends,... he said. ...Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to Ava's family and friends and all those affected by this utterly tragic event. ...My staff are working with students to provide all the support they need at this traumatic time.... And the way they were bringing them bodies out of the house, it was real sad." Family member Dejuantrez Sherrell shared several snaps of Zacquez and Tavarius online as he posted a moving tribute after the victims were identified. He wrote on Facebook: "I wish I could hear yall say what up big bruddah one more time (sic)." Zacquez was a big basketball fan and was looking forward to his prom, graduating high school, and going to college. Meanwhile, Tavarius wanted to become an NFL player, according to a GoFundMe page created by his family. His family said the teen was "quiet" but he was always willing to help. Dozens of tributes have been paid to the teens on social media. Responding to Dejuantrez's post, one user said: "Praying hard for you and your family." Writing on Zacquez's Facebook page, another commented: "Rest in Peace to you and your brother young man. Condolences to your family." The four people, who were injured, were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. They're expected to survive after suffering non-life-threatening injuries. Three guns were recovered from the scene, according to police. Cops say robbery is being considered as a motive for the shooting which remains under investigation. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the Sherrell family cover funeral expenses and hospital bills. Nashville is located in Davidson County. Police data reveals there have been 491 gunshot victims, including homicides and injuries, in the county this year as of November 20, according to ABC. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 615-742-7463.

A judge today lifted a reporting restriction banning the identity of 14-year-old Yussuf Mustapha as he was caged for at least 16 years for murder. Italian born Mustapha is believed to be Britain's youngest gun killer. Last year, a 16-year-old boy was jailed alongside Hamza Ul Haq, 21, and Loic Nengese, 19, for murdering Joseph Williams-Torres in East London. Keon somehow managed to scramble to his feet but the pack of youths continued to slash at him before fleeing the scene.
