'General Hospital' star Tristan Rogers diagnosed with cancer at 79

<p>Tristan Rogers, known for portraying Robert Scorpio on "General Hospital," was diagnosed with cancer, representatives confirmed to Fox News Digital.</p>

<p>Rogers, 79, appeared in over 1,400 episodes and starred in the popular daytime television drama for more than three decades.</p>

<p>"While he remains hopeful and is working closely with his medical team on a treatment plan, this is a challenging time for Tristan and his family," his representative said in a statement.</p>
