The New York Giants could hand Gabe Davis a lifeline after the wide receiver's brutal axing by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Wednesday. Almost two weeks after they took Travis Hunter, who plays both receiver and cornerback, with the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft, the Jaguars released Davis - just one year after signing him to a multi-year contract. The wideout signed a three-year, $39million deal with the Jaguars just last offseason but played only 10 games, finishing with 20 catches for 239 yards after suffering a season-ending knee injury in November.
