How (and how often) to wash your winter coat, according to a cleaning expert - and the big mistakes to avoid
We've all had the conversation with colleagues about how often you should wash your bedding, towels and duvet – but coats? That's a topic we've rarely delved into. It turns out, in the UK we're not washing our coats all that often – in fact 64% of Brits haven't washed their winter coat yet this season, and 59% only do it once or twice a year. According to the survey by Joules, more than one in six people admitted they never washed their coat, which is partly because it's not as simple as 'bung it in the washing machine and switch on daily wash', unlike most of our other clothes.
