As a kid, I was constantly burdened by obligations – whether to my mother, societal pressure, the demands of the movie industry or even the public's expectations of who I was supposed to be. Then I went to Princeton University as a student, which should have been a liberation. But I was desperate to come home. And I was in New Jersey, only one state away from my mum. It wasn't exactly like being in Europe.
